I keep getting calls from a Mel Clark 678-500-8466. Who is this person? He is rude, mean and threatening legal action including calling my corporate office.

Been there, done that, still working thru it!! :roll: It really is such a hard cycle to break, and definately a coslty one. Over the last 4-5 years of going thru it, I've definately learned a few things. In the beginning I handled them with little responsibility or understanding. I don't condone them, but understand why people like myself turn to them in a time of need.

So, I was contacted by a company named American Debt Settlement. Has anyone had any dealings with this company?

Got a return from a CA! yay! The copy of the original document has an obvious change. Now what do we do? The original document was changed.

I'm something like 45-60 days behind with Citi (two payments missed). Today their representative offered to decrease my minimum payment to 1% of my balance per month, so my payment would decrease to roughly $120/month ($12,000 balance). He also said that no finance charges would accrue and that the entire payment would go towards my principal. And that the offer would last 12 months. I can't afford that, but wanted to post it to share with others what I'm being offered and what they might be able to expect. Anyway, this is by far the best offer I've gotten from my creditors.

We've had a "hard debit block" put on our account, did this yesterday. Have to wait to close the account because we are overdrawn. Will do this on the 31st when funds go into the account to cover the deficit. My question is, what should we do next ? Contact the ACH processor. File complaints. Send "cease and desist" letters. Is there anything we missed ? Our account is scheduled to debited on the 31st for the loans we have. We are in MA, all our loans are internet and illegal. Back in January, I received a letter from a lawyer who wanted to sue me for an old Bank of America credit card I defaulted on. They said I owed $6200 when the final balance before charge-off was $3100. I did the debt verification and validation thing and just received another letter from the lawyer. This time he's asking me to contact his office to "discuss the sum of $3100 plus interest at the rate of 27.7% per annum." He wants to hear from me within 10 days -- the letter is dated March 19 and I received it on Monday.. What do I do now?

They are taking 300. every 2 wks give or take On the case docket complaint was for 4918.57 judgement for plaintiff was 2658.41 intrest and costs it also says accrued intrest of 2260.16 through 5/14/08 and intrest thereafter at 8% Can any one tell me how much I owe i have paid 2022. and another 300. comes out this week This is killing me. can anyone help please

So today, I'm home with a sick child & I get 3 frantic phone calls from my 96 year old grandmother. Apparently, she had received a phone call from "David Bernstein" at 866-331-6161x 211. He said that it was very important that she tell me to call him immediately about a "problem that was going to have to be taken care of by 11am on Friday." So I call this guy, and he answers the phone "Detective" but "catches" himself in the middle of the word so only says detec...this is David Bernstein. So I tell him who I am and that I'm returning his call.
