To whom this may concern- I found an inquiry pon my credit report. I was pregnant back then and I was coverd by Medical, I do not owe anything. Please help!

How can I stop them from calling my job???? :( I feel like I constantly have to monitor the phone (Thank God I am a receptionist, but I can't be there all the time. I sent a cease and desist letter via email (as this was my only option) and used information that I got from this community to draft the letter and asked for written communication only. Please help me I am losing my mind....What else should I do, I live in Maryland and just learned that these internet based loans are illegal!!!!

I recently received a summons from Daniels Law Office about a debt they were allegedly trying to collect on behalf of MBNA (now owned by Bank of America). I defaulted on a credit card in February, 2003, but I believe I re-aged it by making payments to Wolpoff and Abrams, another collection agency. I paid off most of the principal, but they had tacked on a couple of thousand dollars worth of fees and interest, and I missed a couple of payments. In June, 2008 Wolpoff and Abrams sent me a letter saying that they were willing to take a greatly reduced payoff amount to settle the debt.

I paid off a zipcash loan a long time ago almost a year ago. Suddenly out of no where I get a letter from a collection agency telling me I have a 115.00 balance that I owe to zip cash, I know I paid this off in full. Has anyone else out there had this happen. I recently heard on the news here about debts that have been paid in full by people somehow ending up with collection agencies who go after you for money you already paid? any advise on this one? thanks !

Hello to everyone thats reading this. Im curious as to wether this is real or not. Last year i took out a loan with cashnetusa. It was with a bank account that i no longer have so it would be almost if not completely impossible to check if i paid the loan back or not because honestly i dont remember. I got a call this past Friday from a restricted number which i did not pick up. I was left a message by a man who said he had a summons for me as the main defendant in a legal case. He also said he did not know the details and provided a number for me to call if i had questions.

We are being served papers today for credit card debt. We are in the SOL so we are worried that our wages will be garnished. Can they garnish wages once they are in our bank account? We are just freaking out and don't know what to do. Do we get an attorney?
