I sent Capital Collections a Cease to call letter on 2/27 I asked in the letter for them to contact me only by letter. They continue to call me at work and home they have acknowledged that they received the letter i sent it certified mail with a return receipt but I have yet to get the return receipt back.

I have a "happy thing" to share 1- i have a storefront payday loan that I almost have paid off but when i went to make a payment on it they told me that President Obama has recently passed some laws that take effect on pay day loans this summer and the government is working on eliminating them all together if these items pass from what I understood then no payday loans will be legal at all the only loan that would be legal would be a loan you get from your bank!

I have 2 credit cards (they are both mastercards) One is called Orhcard Mastercard and the other one is Household mastercard. Both of them are HSBC cards. The credit limit on one was for $300.00 and the other credit limit was $650.00. I have not charged anything on these cards for years! I probably haven't charged anything on them since 2004. I have paid and paid and paid these cards but the balance just keeps going up. The balance of the $300.00 limit card is now close to $600.00 and the balance on the $650.00 limit card is now over $1000.00.

I have an outstanding balance and my account was turned over to chex systems. I would like to pay the debt off....and my next question is this account is from 2002 how long does it stay on chex systems? Thank you for your help

Can anyone tell me, where I can lodge a complaint against Portfolio Recovery. They call my house at least 3 times a day. Originally they said they were collecting on a debt for IKEA, I have never had credit with IKEA. On the advise in this forum, I asked them to send me validation, their response was to send me an Identity theft form, requesting I send them a notarized statement, including a copy of my D/L and Social. HA HA they must have thought I was stupid.

Hi, I was told by BofA that I should be prepared to make an initial payments over the phone when a settlement is agreed upon. Given that there is no written agreement, would it be OK to have them take an initial payment from my checking account? They said when settlement is reached, it will be made is 3 payments (over 3 months) in addition to the initial smaller payment over the phone. Is this standard practice? Thanks.

what if i live in mn where it is legal to record conversations with debt collectors but they are located in a state that needs permission?

I have managed to revoke my ACH authorization with Payday One. They responded that they would honor my request and they have done so. Before I call them to make payment arrangments, I'm wondering if anyone knows if I am required to pay them the loan fees or just the amount of the original loan? Also, if I've already paid them the amount of the original loan by paying the fees, would it be worth it to ask that the loan be considered paid in full?
