I am confused about the serving of paper to appear before the Judge for a case which can end up as a Judgment,If you dont show up for your court appearance,then you have a default judgment enter against you. I asume a process server would serv papers on you to show up in court at a givin time and you would sign for these papers.The reason I ask this Question is I was never served papers to go to court I just got a default Judgment in the mail from the Courthouse/with a Judges signature on it.

Good news everyone. Thanks to this forum, I finally got a PIF from these folks. I do plan on keeping the PIF forever as I have read out here that they will sell to a CA and will eventually try to collect on the "waived" balance. It took some work on my part, but I didn't back down and didn't let them bully me. I didn't even have to resort to a claim with the BBB or with AG, or anyone. All I did was mention that if they didn't honor my request, they would be filed by the end of this week. I sent my last counter offer on 2/20, how fast they responded.

I currently have a collections account with this company. My question is they keep moving the due date up every month. Are they allowed to change the due date every month? I think it should be the same date every month as originally agreed.

Just received a summons yesturday being sued by Capital One. I live in Colorado. Account was charged off and collection agency MRS Assoc sent a few letters in 2008(dummie, I ignored them) then at the end of 12/08 attorney Linebarger goggan blair sampson sent a "Notice of Debt" letter stating unless in 30 days I dispute this debt etc.(dummie, I ignored it, too) Now the attorney on the summons is Machol & Johannes with the same exact address as Linebarger Goggan Blair Sampson. Should I send the validation letter and wait to file an answer to see if I get anything back?

I received a letter from my employer letting me know that my pay was being garnished. This garnishment is from a car that I voluntarily returned due to it being a lemon. This was over 8 years ago. All of a sudden they are taking money out of my pay and said they served me papers. Which I never got. They served the papers to an old address that I no longer reside. They said that the person who signed the papers stated they were my roomate which is false because I never had a roomate. Plus I told them that I have proof that I was not living that the address that they claimed to have served me.

I am wondering what happens to a bad check if it was written to a company that went bankrupt?

does anyone know the address for Impact Cash. I took a loan out from them and I believe they are illegal in the state of Nebraska and would like to send them a certified letter. Thanks for your time.

Hi, Ok, this company is illegal in the state of WA & I have sent them the letter regarding same. They continue to contact me & today.... I got this email. Im thinking it is just another attempt, but I thought I would post it here for a 2nd opinion from those that Know.... Thanks

what do you do when a company fails to provide you with validation?. no reply at all but they keep calling
