Yesterday had a call but no message from a number that I found out to be Brachfeld Associates. Today I had two calls about 2 minutes apart from a different number and two different people leaving a message this time. I like how they stress they are a law firm. Anyway, waiting for my dunning letter then I will send the DV. Guess I'll let this one go as far as I can. If I end up getting sued I'll work out a payment plan with them to avoid actually going to court. I wonder why LVNV/Resurgent doesn't just sue me themselves instead of getting these guys involved?

My toilet was leaking and my landlord was out of town so I called him and said I would get the parts and have my friend try to fix it. My friend had problems with the repair and I ended up having to call a plumber to make an emergency call. It took him all of 5 minutes to replace an angle stop and they billed me for $482 because the check my landlord wrote bounced. Does this type of debt qualify the same way that credit card loans and personal loans and the other unsecured debts mentioned in that category? How can I get the debt reduced or refuse responsiblity for it altogether?

I had a good deal of credit card debt last year; I was able to stop making payments, almost immediately, and to start putting money in my pocket. Now I'm out of the woods, thanks to this method

I see a lot of people have success in fighting the good fight against payday lenders. You have all encouraged me to battle. I started my fight today!! But have a few questions. I have 3 payday loans out, total balance of $1300 and paying $390 every 2 weeks in "interest". According to the laws in my state I have overpaid those loans by $1000's (I have reloaned with several of them). I just can't do it anymore!! 500 fastcash integrity advance impact cash 1. How successfull is this? 100% of the time? 50% of the time?

Thanks for all the help I received on my summons. I think I have the letter with answer to the complaint in the works. It still is very undaunting and scarey!! NOW the next question is regarding the other 7 CC's. I have never Validated any of them. I have some money and would like to settle with them before they sue me too. I don't know if I should just send them a settlement letter (say offering 25%- the debts are 18 months old- and some of them have been through a couple of CA's) along with some kind of validation request. This whole mess is making me crazy!

Has anyone worked with or heard of American financial concepts?

OK, I got a few student loans totaling approximately $8,000. I got the notices it was being sent into default, etc. after my grace period. Today, I received a call giving me their full speech about being able to wage garnish, etc. Also, that they would start garnishment proceedings if I didn't contact them within two days. They got my information, the fact I'm unemployed, and offered me a monthly payment of $85. They wanted to set me up on an automatic withdrawal program and I explained that I don't have a checking account only a pre-paid debit card because of other credit issues.

I'm in the process of trying to fix my credit but, every company I have contacted they don't want to settle with me or the don't respond. What can I do

I was trying to find a better address for American Consumer Credit AKA Thecashspot, as mail to the 42 reads Way address came back as undeliverable by the post office. So I googled the above mentioned address. Guess what......Other than in topics from this forum, and one post from the BBB, theAmerican Consumer Credit, apparently doesnt exist, at least not in New Castle, DE. I did run accross these other addresses though. Note they are ALL at 42 Reads Way.
