In Nov '08 I took my guitar to a local music store for a simple repair job. The guy at the store basically botched the job and had to re-do it 3 times, and damaged my guitar in the process. After the 3rd time, I told the store manager that I wasn't going to pay a dime for the work, and he basically said "uh ok" and I left. Today I got a collection notice from (hehe) Allen, Lewis & Associates trying to collect. I assumed the store would just take me to small claims court, in which case I was expecting to counter-sue for the damage they caused.

I did move my money out of a bank of america account and closed it, I figured they might try something like that. Many of my accounts including my mortgage were taken over by bank of america. But Michelle3568 raised a good question for me to ask, kind of another piece of this puzzle I have to work through. If I am settling with a particular credit card and lets say I have to pay them a certain amount, lets say 6 payments over 6 months.

I live in California. 2001. My ex had a capitalone credit card and added me to his account. Jan 2006. Separation started. Asked ex to delete my name from the joint credit card. He said he did. Of course, I don't have the physical credit card and don't know the account number at all. He cut out the physical card away from me and cut it out in front of me. Jan 2007. Divorce got finalized. Jan 2009.

My husband had a vehicle repossessed in 1996. Before we were married. They sold the truck and said that he was responsible for the difference.The debt that he owed then was about 6500$. Earlier this year we received a letter from a credit bureau with a list of debts that I knew we were responsible for. I started paying what I could. Now everything is paid off except for that and I realize that they want 13500.00 for that old vehicle debt with interest. Is there a limit to what they can charge in interest? Because of the other accounts I paid does that affect the SOL?

I am leary about the debt settlement process, especially when it comes to my bank account? I guess I'm worried about one of the companies grabbing what cash I'm trying to save to settle with later. Do I need to store my cash under the mattress if things get crazy and they want to sue me? What is a safe way to keep my cash? Any help would be appreciated!

im looking for a company to help me out of my grave. I am 28 years old and recently had a job change. I am 60k in debt but I have 0 late payments and have a 725 credit score. I need to get myself out of this hole but need help, can someone send me in the right direction?

I got a call from the northland group, trying to contact someone else, regarding a debt obviously, on my phone today. The message was one of those pre-recorded ones asking the debtor to call a "Sarah" back. But that's not the kicker! Is starts off with the typical "this is a very important call for (insert debtor's name here), if you are not (insert debtor's name here) then hang up now." It then states there will be a 3 second delay, which counts off with 3 beeps.

Does anyone know how to contact the pay day loan company Magnum_Z direct pay? I got a $250 loan back in December and have been paying $75 every 2 wks, so far it's $300 in just fees, nothing toward the principal. I don't want to close my account and figure I might as well just pay the loan and be done with it, but can not find the number I had written down. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
