To anyone who had Chase send them to Mann Bracken, how many months late were you on your Chase account? Has anyone out there settled with Chase before being sent to Mann Bracken?

Hello im new to the site and have a Question. I had a credit card debt charge off from ge money bank and it was sent to arrow F,S, but they did not contact me NES Collections calls with there threats and the yelling. so i called GE Money and they gave me AFS # and AFS states that they own the debt but they also use NES for collection NES will not work with me and be reasonable they want the $3,500 within two months and i dont have it. now AFS said they will let me send payments so what can NES do since they dont own the debt ? and should i send my payments to AFS ?

I made one of the worst decisions, to obtain 2 of these. Check Advance $585 Payday Loan Store $650 I have been paying interest ONLY on both of these loans for months...and I can't afford it anymore. They are both due this Friday, and I CAN'T PAY THEM. I would like to work out a payment arrangement...but I'm afraid they will say no, and call my work etc....and take me to court. Is there anything I can do?????

I've been contacted by Protocol Recovery about a cc debt I owe. They were the typical threatening agency. We came to a payment agreement. I asked for something in writing via email. They said OK. I never received anything. The calls started again. I told PRS I never got anything from them. They threatened a lawsuit. I was told that a "strange person" showed up at my work looking for me a couple of days ago. (I'm out of town). I was told about a month ago that a similar person shoiwed up at my home. I do not live there since I'm in the middle of a divorce.

Last month, I received a notice that an old payday loan from Cash in a Flash (Oshkosh, WI) was going to court if I don't pay it. This loan is from 2002; we thought we had paid all of them off and obviously we forgot this one. The original loan amount was $396. The company now wants $11,969.00 with fees and interest. I called the collection agency (Oshkosh Collection and Recovery Agency, Oshkosh, WI) and said that we could only pay 10% of the total ---- $1,196. I would be able to pay $200 on Jan. 15 and the balance on Jan. 31st. The manager said that would work.

I'm on permanent disability and am being harrassed by Portfolio Recovery on a old Capital One account. I live in Michigan and read somewhere if you are on disability I can't be taken to court for payinga old debt. I filed an Answer in response to the summons and complaint and have a court date in Feb. Got a call on my answering machine from the legal department of Check Collection of America regarding "my checking account." I don't have a checking account. They told me to call back as soon as possible or it would be forwarded for further legal action. They gave reference number. I called and they said I had written a check that was returned. I informed them I didn't have a checking account. They asked if I lived in such and such town which I did not. "Oh we must have the wrong person" and then hung up. :roll: Isn't the message they left on the answering machine breaking the law?

I was curious to know if a minor has to have parental or legal guardian consent to allow ease dropping of a conversation in Illinois.
