I just recd. a voicemail from a Paula Smith at PMI Associates, re. a cash advance loan I'd taken out from Ace Express or Cheyenne Company. I've never, ever taken anything out from either company, but I called her back to see what was going on. She said this was a loan I'd taken out back in 2003. I told her I'd never taken out a loan w/ either company. She then asked if I'd ever taken out a PDL. I told her it was none of her business and then told her I was going to report her to the Maryland Commission of Financial Regulation. She said, "Do what you have to do," and hung up.

Our debt from WAMA has been sold to CPC after 7-8 months of no payment. They are now contanstantly calling my husband at his work phone number and work cell phone numer to settle this account at 50%. He has told them not to call these numbers but, they keeps calling. They do have our home phone number and they have sent us a letter about a week ago. We do not have the 4500.00 to settle this account at this time. Can I file a complaint because they keep harrassing my husband at work? Also when they say you have 30 days to dispute the dept, is that a straight 30 days? or 30 working days?

I just wanted to wish all my family here a Merry Christmas. I have really been in a slump the past week or so and have not been on here too much. I am trying very hard not to let myself get down too much. (more things have happened, but will fill in after Christmas). Anyway, I hope that each and everyone one of you have a Blessed Holiday. Help, I am stuck in a payday loan cycle and don't know what to do. After reading some of the information on this site. It has eased by tension. what should I do? Help Me Please

I recieved paper work last week from a law firm that states I have been sued. I called the court house and it is in fact true. The paper work states I have 20 days to respond. Also there is a certified copy of the letter still sitting at the post office. When does the 20 days start. Should I have recieved a summons as well? How do I answer this? The debt is about $7k that is mine but they refuse to set up a payment schedule.

hey i have a question. about a year ago er solutions started to blow up my phone - said i owed $1500 to hollywood video. i never recieved anything in writing and this did not sound right (i know i might have had maybe 1 or 2 that i never returned - the store closed! but $1500? plus, the store closed!!) i never recieved anything to validate it but the calls stopped. they started again, how should i handle this? i will gladly pay whats owed but $1500 for two dvds owed to a store that shut down is crazy talk!

Hi everyone, First off thanks for all the great advice that is already on here - it has given me some hope that there is a way out of this mess I got myself into! My husband and I got into this mess a year ago when I was diagnosed with MS and he lost his job. On top of that we just had a baby and thought payday loans were our only option to get through a certain time period and in all honesty without that cash back then I dont really know what we would have done. But we have paid these people so much money since then it is just crazy.

A little backstory; In college I received a citifinancial credit card. After raking up about $100 of debt, I realized I couldn't pay it, and had my mother take care of it for me. However, my mother had citifinancial issue a credit card in her name with my account number without my consent or contract. After I came out of college, I took a look at my citi account, and realized that my mother had charged over $8000 to the account, and that the account had fallen into collections. This was back in 2006. I received a subpoena back in January of 2008 stating that I have a court case in December.

Hello, I believe I have been contacted by a junk debt buyer to collect on a creidt card that was charged off in the year 2000. This was 8 years ago and I believe the statute of limitations in ohio for an open ended account is 6 years. I know on written contracts they have up to 15 years does a credit card fall under that also. please advise.
