Hi, Recently the girl I was dating and I decided to look up her Credit Report since we know she's had problems in the past. Most of the trouble extends from the fact that a former friend stole some of her credit cards and racked up huge bills. This was around 4 years ago now so some of these charges are going to enter the SOL I suspect but we don't know what will happen at this point. Only one of the card companies appears to have made a mark stating that it was disputed but it still went to charge off and now appears to be in the hands of a collection agency.

Can someone pls recommend a good dmp company. I am based in NY. perveen

Has anyone used this company for debt settlement or know anything about them? Also, they use Metron Services to do their settlement/negotiating. I can't find info on either on on BBB.

I received the summons today. I have 30 days to answer. I checked my file and the amount that I am being sued for is correct. The collection agency/attorney handling the suit is none other than MANN BRACKEN. I called their office in April 2008 to make payment arrangements. I couldn't pay the amount the wanted me to pay. I was not working then and I am still not working. If I don't enter into a consent judgement and I have to appear in court, will I need an attorney to represent me? I will need the website where I can find one at no or very low fee. Your feedback is appreciated.

HSBC are a real piece of crap first of all they tell me that I am approved for a the hardship program under 0% and now I get my bill and see that they have billed me 31% in int charges and when I call them they tell me that I am not approved. So has anyone settled with thsi company and how many months do you have to be be delinquent. shaheda
