Anybody else going through this? I was screwed by these A-Holes and was wondering if any others are on here. I sent in my claim form a week or so ago. Has anybody else sent it in or received any info from the receivership? I sent them an email and they stated they had not logged my into the system yet. They had only logged in mail received as of 11/6/08.

Background: valid debt, $5400, in collections since April, received first notification Nov 1. So, the 'manager' I get automatically transferred to is a jerk. I called to get a feel for the account and while he offered to settle at 60% he refused anything in writing. Then, two days, later said he'd email/fax me 'something'. He never did. THen he pretended that he couldn't find my file because 'it's gone to legal'. All of this was during the week of the first notice. Oh, he also hung up on me when I said that I need something in writing before I send *anything* to them.

There was a judgment entered against me and another person in 1988 in California. I was originally contacted by the CA in 1992 and told of the judgment (I did not know about it). I orally agreed over the phone to payment arrangements and requested they provide me a letter reflecting our agreement. They never did send it but I continued to pay as we originally agreed because I am a responsible person. I know several years ago the CA proved up the judgment.

Ok just an update. That other thing never went anywhere that was posted above. BUT I did just get this letter from my lawyer. However, I do not understand if it's something I should do. Could someone read this and give me a little advice? *********** This is what I would like to do. I'd like to send a $7500 demand letter and settle the case somewhere between there and $2500 plus a mutual dismissal with prejudice, one against the other. That would forever cease hostilities with regard to this matter.

I just paid my last PDL yesterday!!! $981 to Apelles for my Check n Go online intsallment loan. I went from 5 PDL last year to ZERO!!! It took a year but I am done with these things!! I used Langhorne debt solutions for my internet PDLs and made my own payment arrangements with Apelles. I would highly recommend using Langhorne. There is a fee but they end up saving you a lot of money on settlements. Anyway, I just wanted to wish you all luck and let you know that there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Good Morning Everyone!!! I just wanted to check in and give you an update on my current situation! After talking to an attorney, I realized that there's no way I could afford the fees to file bankruptcy, so I called Western Kentucky Legal Aid, and they echoed just about everything I've learned on this website, with an additional twist! The guy explained to me that since I was essentially "judgement proof" (which I already knew), they reserve their services for clients who have assets that need protecting. I don't own my home, and the title to my car has a lien on it already.

My in-laws received a letter stating that a lien was placed against their house. The lien was placed by a law firm specializing in collections for a known collection agency. The original debt was incurred due to identity fraud but since my in-laws do not read or understand english well, they did not act upon the problem and are now in this unfortunate predicament. The debt listed is $15,000.00 and I believe that the original debt was for $6,0000.00. They live in California. Should they call a lawyer, settle the current debt or try to negotiate for a lesser payment?

My internet loans I did send them all letter to revok/ wagement, also sent Altentive payment plan letters, so after all that they still sent my internet loans to collections. The internet loans I have are illegal in the State of Oregon I did the resreach.
