Greetings all! I wish that I had found this website a long time ago. I had excellent credit until the period from when I became disabled and had no income until last year, when I became officially disabled by the SSA and now receive disability insurance income. I am working with a debt management company now, but there is one credit card and one payday loan collection agency (A&S Associates) who refuse to cooperate, so I am trying to get a debt consolidation loan, so that I can pay them off and only have one payment each month.

Financial Hardship-what is the best route to go for help?

Okay, made last payment to Advanta in July, here are my offers for settlement, 1) Advanta will forgive $1,071.11 of your current balance, if you pay $6,069.00 in six monthly installments, which will fully satisfy your debt to Advanta. First Installment of $607.00 is due on 12/01/2008. Additional 5 monthly installments of $1,093.00 are due monthly until total of $6,069.00 is paid in full. or 2)Advanta will forgive $1,785.11 of your current balance, if you pay $5,355.00 by 12/01/2008, which will fully satisfy your debt to Advanta.

I am in the state of NC. I was told there is a 3 year statue of limitations in NC. I am being sued for a credit card account. My question is which date on my credit report does the 3 years start by?

My husband went to Chiropractic school and acquired a huge amount in student loans...approx $270,000. He has been out of school for almost 4 years now and has been unsuccessful at passing his National Boards. His loans are now coming into repayment and he is by far making the money of a Chiropractor to pay the loans. Some are federal loans, which I know HE HAS TO PAY, but some are private loans. Does anyone know what he can do so he can postpone re-payments?

I received a call from a collection agency weeks ago and they wanted to set up a pymt. plan or otherwise send everything straight to court. They stated w/ today's economy lawyers are not "playing". The plan would not begin for 3 more weeks and I explained to them that I was still looking for work, but the way it sounded to me, it was better to set the plan at that time and call them back later if the work situation was the same. I contacted them at the later time stating that I still have not found a job and the money will not be in the bank account.

What happens if I receive a summons for trial due to a debt but I've already paid my first month's allotment to the Northstar. Do I still have to show up to for a trial?

is it good 2do it? how much will cost? which chapters are to file for? which is better and easier chapter? what are the requirements?? is it true that if u work in a kasino(have 2 spell it that way it says its a bad word? lolz) u cannot do bankruptcy? what are the good and bad about bankruptcy? is it gonna be a bad record 4u and 2ur credit report? what are the consequences for filing bankruptcy? my boyfriend and i are planning to do bankruptcy but we dont know how to start it we dont know anything much about it. please help. thanks in advance

I have a question for u guys, I am going through abitter divorce and am now behind on all the credit cards owe about $75,000. Is there any way that I can settle myself with these credit card companies. Have any of you been able to do it successfully. Have following debts MBNA - $34,000 HSBC $18,000 dDiscover $9000 Advanta - $9500 Any advice appreciated pls.
