paid off a loan with ameriloan three years ago now I'm getting harrasment calls to pay off the same loan, are they legal in the state of colorado and how do I get them to drop there harrasment calls

hi! i have an intricate problem concerning debt in my name. I had a baby 2 years ago and i was not married to the father, but now am. The hospital bill was sent to a debt collector who is now trying to collect the debt. I do not work but my husband does so they named him as a defendant in the paperwork we were served. The next step will be garnishment but I have been told that he can not be held liable for debt in my name and our son's name because we were not married and he is not on the birth certificate (hospital error).

Would u guys happen to know what would happen to the payday loans that are left unpaid for few yrs? I have so many payday loans that are wayyy behind. Never been paid for about couple years now. And I never heard from them. NOw that im expecting calls and letters from them I get nothing. I dont know what happened to them. Am i safe or what??

I am finally getting out of the PDL nightmare and now it looks like my cc company is ready to file suit????yesterday I rec'd a call from James Roy @ Foster & Gurbus attorney office. I called him and he said he was hired by HSBC to collect on my past due account. offered me a settlement of $4000 on a $5000 balance... Although I have been paying on this account here and there and they have a payment coming out of my checking account this friday I can't understand why they would send to an attorney for collections?

has anyone every dealt with these people. They sent me a letter today saying they purchased my account from american general finance. i'm not sure what the SOL is in missouri I pulled my credit and they are not on my report and AGF charged this off in 2006 and noted profit loss (not sold or transfer). I don't think i have paid on this since 2004. Any help I will DV them cause I paid off a lot of debt and might have paid this plus its over 2,000.00 then the orginal debt

I live in Arkansas. I had taken an online payday loan with MTE, and due to slow work, defaulted. On advice from my bank (to stop nsf fees), I closed that account, and have not opened another one. Now, EAD Group LTD, from Columbia, So. Carolina, has taken the loan, and wants payment. They have offered to drop the past late fees, and make arrangements. They want me to use a debit card or credit card, which I have neither. When I asked to use a money order or western union, they said they will not accept payments that way.

I'm in Cali. I took out an IPL back in 4/2006 for $300 from Midland Financial. At the same time, a company name BMG deposited another $250 into my acct. Since I got married, I switched accounts. Now I am in contact with a "MR. Hill" from the Law Firm OJ Lawal. He saying the whole thing about he's gonna have me picked up by the police if I don't pay and that he is not a CA, but a legal asst. It turns out, BMG & Midland are the same comp. So Mr Hill is combining both amounts with interest $468 + $567= $1035. He agreed to lower the payment to $839 and pay 3x $280.

WAMU has been absolutely no help in letting me take control of my bank account. So i've been forced to open a new bank account at a different bank. Since WAMU has kept saying that a hard block debit is not possible and the pdl companies have continued to try to debit money out of my account and i was already overdrafted i'm left with a negative balance of ~$800.

Hello everyone- I hate to be doing this post, I really do. I had some debt that I had been paying off a while back, but in January of this year my wife and I were jobless. She is still without employment, but I now have a job and are just barely getting back on our feet. It has been extremely tough and have had more than our share of bad things happen. We were hoping to have made this year a good one, but it just hasn't happened that way. And now it appears to be getting worse. Because we had absolutely no money, I couldn't pay Bank of America for several months.

Could someone tell me where to find statute of limitations in Indiana? I see SOLs referenced all the time and would be interested to know for where I live. Thanks.
