Hi people! I am so happy that i found this site! I was able to get 4 years of stress lifted off my shoulders! Althought i am not completely done, I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! I have settled 4 accounts, 2 will be completely paid off by the end of the month and 2 more to conquer. I learned that patience and persistence is the key to getting yourself out of the whole.

My girlfriend and I want to go on a spectuacular long vacation soon. We were looking for suggestions. Anyone have any great spots? A means to save a little money would be nice too. Vacationing is expensive these days.

Ok, so Monday I e-mailed think cash and told them to cancel the ach that was scheduled for wednesday october 8. I told them I would work out a payment arrangement with them, but that there were not enough funds for the debit. They e-mailed me back that they could not locate account information for the e-mail I supplied. I immediately went to the sight and logged in with the same e-mail, and there was all the account information! I sent another e-mail with a fax stating that the account information was present and the e-mail was valid and that I was cancelling the ach for wednesday.

I recently put my Amex on a dmp. The proposal was sent to American Express in mid September. They replied the other day saying they wanted the monthly payment to be what my current minimum is for 4-6 months. At that time, they will review my account and perhaps lower the interest rate to 9.9%. The DMP company can't guarantee a lower minimum payment though. Of course, it's out of their hands. It's all up to Amex. Is this pretty typical? I thought the point in moving to a DMP was to lower my payments.

Reading what most of the collectors who come on here to say something you would think everyone is saying not to pay their bills. Also they like to throw around the word "debtor" like its supposed to be an insult. They also like to talk about living up to the contracts people signed. It also appears that those that come to this website are solely responsible for the economy of the whole nation and I imagine the world. First, I have not seen anyone say they should not pay their debts if they are valid. They do say though to make sure what the collector is telling you is the correct amount.

I once heard of a site where you can sell your used books. You enter in the ISN number, and the book pulls up and it tells you what they will pay you for it. Anyone know of this site? Thanks!!

Today I received a paper from the County Sherrif that Chase has filed a lawsuit against me and I have 20 days to respond. I plan on filing BK but don't have the money yet. What happens next? Does this mean they will be able to garnish my salary or freeze my bank account? Not that there's anything in it except if they hit it lucky on payday in which case I won't be able to pay my rent. I'd appreciate any advise!

We are filing a chapter 13 bankruptcy and my lawyer can't send a letter to these people without their address. This is a loan I never applied for, but because I applied with another company they got my info, and then just made a deposit into my account and started taking money out of it two weeks later! Ugh! Anyway I've tried calling them repeatedly and ALWAYS get voicemail and no return calls. Anyone have an address?

Has anyone heard of them? The number they call from is 866-321-5085. Well, that is the number they leave me to call back. They even called my references. Real nice!!!
