Hi, I also posted the following in the collection/creditors forum - wasn't sure which it belongs in since it's about debt settlement, with creditors. :? We can't afford our house, we are self employed and aren't bringing in enough money to pay the mortgage and cc's. We realized this a year ago and put the house on the market last May. No, it hasn't sold. So we used our cc's to get by. Now we have an agent that specializes in short sales and are working with countrywide and suntrust to short sale our house. It is 50,000 below appraisal price and still no lookers!

I have a student loan that was suppose to be paid off from my parents back in 1988, finding out that a 4,000 dollar loan now has increased into a 19,000 dollar loan, i need help to find out where i can go to get help so that it stops climbing and my credit is so bad cause of it. I have been struggling with bills and family all these years and now want to get it stopped. Any suggestions

I was taken to court by LVNV funding about two months ago where i asked the judge to have them validate the debt. After court I sent a letter for validation and they ended up dropping the suit against me, but still have heard nothing form them regarding the validation. Now i just got a letter form northland group regarding the same debt, they say they are assigned the debt form LVNV funding. Can they do that if they still havent validated the debt??? How do I change my avatar so it doesn't show a different one all the time?

An attorney from John P Frye contacted my wife about a debt that they say I owe. Is it legal for them to contact my wife even though she had nothing to do with the debt? I don't even know how they got her number. I was not even married when I got the debt that they say that I owe. Can they do That? Is it legal practice? Does anybody know what I can do?

An attorney from John P Frye contacted me on regards an account with Atlantic Finance Credit Inc. Will they waste their time to take me to Court? they say I owe $3200 dollars.

First, this forum is fantastic. I've been glued to it for the past two days. My debt situation: Around 15k on 5 different cards - (2) Chase, Discover, Bank of Am, and Wells Fargo. Each are in the 2500-3500 range and all with rediculously high interest rates (think upper 20s). I also have 13k on my parents card that I pay each month with an automatic transfer, but it will be excluded from the settlements because its not technically in my name. Only 7 years ago, I was debt free right out of college, save for my student loans.

When filing for ch 7, do you have to include all of your accounts or can you choose what to file under ch 7? I own my home and i would not like to include that in the filing. I am almost done paying for it.
