I have a loan from E-Paydayloan. I found out they were illegal and unlicensed. Does that mean I legally have to pay them back? Thanks.

Has anyone had any luck with a debt consolidation company? I am looking to just get rid of my credit card debt. Do these typically work and do the credit card company's typically work with them or do they harrass you still. Any help appreciated!

I was called by a collection agency & they threatened to take me to court, I have been paying on a Dr. bill. Was owing 1400 now down to 700.00 I told them I would send 200.00 next Wed. then she told me to ask a friend, get a pay advance or credit card ot loan to pay them. Will they take me to court? I am paying what I can each month

Ok, I have verified that my Chase and Citi accounts are charged off and with CA's, but that Chase and Citi still owns them. I really want to have sent back to the OC, so I believe the only way I do that is with a C&D letter? I want to also send a letter to the OC telling them I want to settle with them only. Anything else I'm missing? Should I DV as well?

I am receiving collection calls from a Company for a medical bill. I have been paying on this bill & am sending another 200.00 next week. I owe 700.00 from over 1400.00 After next week it will be 500.00. They asked me to get a loan from a friend or get a personal loan or a credit card to pay this off. Will they take me to court if I am paying this?

What happens when you are sued?

I have a question for those who have been sued by Credit cos and lost, What exactly happed? Did you have to pay the full amount? How were you expected to pay? Did they garnish your wages?

Here is one I started contemplating, if someone purchases a debt most states allow continued accruing of interest, however with financial accounts where credit is extended (i.e. credit cards) FDIC statutes state that after 180 days of delinquency the account must be charged off. How would this effect the transferal of ownership in the case of debt buyers? At the very least I'm sure that it would keep additional fees such as over limit and late fees from being accessed.
