I received a letter stating that I owe money for some book club that I never joined and that it is past due. What should I do?

Hi, it's been awhile since I have been here. I recently received a letter from a CA, ACA Recovery, to collect a so called debt with Paycheck Today for $650. I am in California and have overpaid them by $60 already, my loan was $300 and I have paid $360. What is my next step?

I just found something new. I thought all messages went through my PM mailbox and I was just looking at "My Page" and I saw a bunch of quick reply messages there that I didn't even know I had. I apologize for not responding but I don't know how. Whats the difference between your PM mailbox, the Quick Reply page and when you reply on an active post? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, Ive got 10 online payday loans that have been completely eating my paychecks every two weeks. Ive also got 5 storefront PDLs between my wife and I. We have been struggling with these it seems like forever. I have got to save my paychecks... ive paid my bank, (Chase) literally thousands of dollars in NSF fees over the last year. I need to stop this cycle now! I have been reading these posts and am undecided which direction to go. Bankruptcy or credit counseling or trying to work this out myself. All of my other debts have been affected by these stupid PD loans.

Mickspring Is it possible for me to get a copy of that letter because I too am having difficulty with PDL companies? Thank you.

I have payday loans that I have overpaid on and from what I'm reading it seems they're ALL illegal in my state. Anywho, I want to stop them. So I've read about different letters/notices to send to these companies and I am looking for a "form letter" of sorts so I do this correctly. Does anyone have a sample letter for a "ACH revocation?" Also, what is a C7D? I read that on a post somewhere and I was just wondering.

Hello--I have an opportunity to settle w/BOA on a $6200 account for 50%. Second option is that BOA will approve me into a 0% apr program. The account is/has been -90 day cycle for the past year or so. I have a few other misc debts w/collection agencies (4 other accounts ~$600-$1000), and have a fairly bad credit score (high 500's-very low 600 range). The negative remarks on my report have been there since 2003/2004.

So, I'm doing research on the current company I have an internet pdl out with. I'm an IL resident and am trying to determine if they're licensed... ,in doing research on the internet, I'm seeing bunches of complaints about how they lure in the customers and then never deposit the money. Well, they deposited my money and haven't faulted on the contract to me yet... but the more I've learned on here, the more I want to see if this contract is even legal in the state of IL. I borrowed $200 and have paid $48 in finance fees so far.
