alright I will try to keep this short please bear with me! I am being told by a debt collector that i owe money on a house that was supposedly 'voluntarily surrendered'. I did some digging and learned that the original mortgage company went bankrupt and the collector that has it now is a different company. the creditor went bankrupt through chapter 11 and no longer exists.

Also on the entertainment front, did anyone see the episode of BSG last night? I hate those mid-season breaks Sci-Fi channel does! I just hope this one isn't 6 months long like the break in season 2 was! I have to say, I definitely didn't expect how it ended. I hate to say, it seemed a little all rushed into that one episode so they could get to the point they were at, and then kill us with that break! I'm sure the creators, like the Cylons, have a plan though.

Anyone know of a good resource for comparing personal loan lenders? I have good credit, but I'm looking to consolidate my credit card debt under an unsecured loan with a better apr.

OMG this movie was awesome! It even ties into Iron Man in the beginning and the end but you will only catch it in the beginning if you have a good eye. This move was light years better than the Incredible Hulk that came out a few years ago. The acting was spot on, the graphics were as believable as they could be given the content of the movie. It's PG-13 but only for the violence. I actually took my son to see this for h is birthday and he LOVED it. His favorite phrase now is "Hulk smash!"

Okay so I keep getting this collection notice from a company for a vehicle. The name is the same but not my bill. Anyhow I sent a debt verification letter to them and they sent me back all this paperwork. One was a document for a car I did buy and pay off and the other was a payment history for a car with my name but a wrong address. It had my name, ss # and an address in CA where I have never lived. My mortgage company could verify that i have lived in my home for the past 15 years here in GA. I have always lived in GA and never been to the west coast much less lived there.

I got this yesterday. Not the first time. Idiots think I will fall for it. I reported it to [email]spoof@paypal.com[/email] I do have a paypal account, but they sent it to my email address that is not associated with my account. Like I always said, NEVER click on a link provided in email to verify your information. Always open your browser, and type the URL, in this case, it would be https://www.paypal.com Look in the email I was sent by a fraudulent sender.

Good news finally sallie mae reduced my payment amount for my student loan. They reduced it $69.00 :lol: every little bit helps:)

I received a summons regarding an credit card account. I know its mine but the collection agency is the one suing. I tried to work something out with them, but what they wanted as a down payment, I don't have that amount. Can I get a better deal in court? Or should I just settle with them before that? I was told if I pay them, they would still have a judgement against me, except it wont be enforced because it's not what they wanted. Any suggestions?

Where is a good place to try and refinance a private student loan that you have through sallie mae?
