I wanted to thank JCEMT and Frogpatch again for your help. I have filed complaints with the FTC and my AGs office against this company. I also got a hold of an attorney here in NJ and is going to meet with me on 6/23. He is looking forward to hearing my voicemail messages left by this company acting as a law office and threatening to suspend my Drivers license. I actually also have the lady who called state that she contacted me on 5/2 and that I told her my attorney was going to get in touch with her.

I have closed my bank account and got a new checking account. What do I need to do next? I know I need to send letters and contact my attonery general. Can someone please help me with this?

I'm in NC. Recd a voice message from someone with First Resurgent Capital Law Group. When I called back the phone was answered as "CI". When I spoke with the person that left the message, he said it was Resurgent Capital LP. I assume these are all one in the same? Are they a collection agency acting on behalf of a creditor, or are they a junk debit buyer? He mumbled so bad I had to ask him to repeat almost every word. What bothered me was he made a inference to my credit score and that I own a home (he said $200,000 value..I wish!)...what's up with that? Thank you...

I had disputed an item on my credit report from Asset Acceptance. I received a letter yesterday from them regarding the date on my credit report. They are reporting it as 2006, the actual date of the account with the original creditor is 2003. Do they re-age the account when they purchase it? The put some detail in there about Experian told them they must use the date they purchased the account. Is this correct?

I am currently enrolled with Langhorne and with their help, I have paid 4 PDL's off! :) My check n go online installment was sent to Apelles for collections. Langhorne is working with them but it will be for a final settlement amount based on how much I continue to put in my savings in the next few months.

A collection agency continues to report on my credit report even though they haven't responded to my DV request. I disputed the entry with Equifax and they told me the debt had been verified by the CA, so they will not remove it. Can someone help me determine if the fdcpa or the FCRA is being violated? If so, which?

I hate going to the dentist with a passion and have to go tomorrow for a cleaning. Then they will probably tell me I need tons of work done of which I can't afford. Just curious if anyone else hates the dentist as much as I do.

In Febuary I received a letter from a collection letter on a loan that I received in 1999 from Household Finance. I last paid on the account in I believe 2004 when I finally realized that with such a high interest rate I could never pay it off. I believe the interest rate was over 21%. I didn't know what else to do so I simply stopped paying it and hoped they would write it off and stop collecting interest on it. Eventually that happened and I was left with a close to $6000 debt. I'm not really sure what happened to the debt after that.
