Hi there, just stumbled across this page as i was doing some investigation into my debts. i have one from a CA/law firm [Marcadis and Assoc. of FL] and i was served with a subpoena a little over a year ago. like a poor, ignorant consumer i buckled and wanted to get it resolved asap so i accepted a stipulation (only later i found out they are sheisters who among other things have employed caller ID spoofing). the amount i'm paying monthly i orig. agreed to is now beyond my means due to a job change.

Is debt settlment right for someone that isn't having a problem making there minimum payments?

Hello, I am 28yrs old with approx $36,000 in credit card debt. My first child is due in August and ever since finding out I have been working on paying off the debt and getting to a point where I can better provider for my child. I have contacted a few (and been contacted by many) debt settlement groups. It does not appear that they are right for me, they are willing to work with me, however I don't understand why they would have me pay into an escrow account an amount higher than my minimum payments, and then ask me to 'swear' to the fact that I can no longer afford the minimum payments.

OKay so here I am feeling guilty. I feel ashamed of myself. No one put me in this position but me. So I need alot of help please. I feel like I can not live like this any longer. I live in California. Think Cash = 500.00, I owe 484.17, have paid $84.46 PayDay One = 250.00, I owe 194.10 on 5/21/08 ameriloan = 200.00, I owe 260.00, have paid 60.00 One Click Cash = 200.00, I owe 260.00, have paid 60.00 All but one are due on 5/7/08. They will take 204.46 from my checking account. If someone can please help me with this. What can I do.

I am getting information and educating myself on debt management but I have a question trying to understand what they mean by pdl

Hi All - My first time here. I've recently pd off several pdls, but still have one out. It's w/BIG, and what they say my payoff is DOES NOT make sense. Orig loan was $200, so far I have pd $700 (I know!!!), and when I asked what the payoff was the end of April, they said $365!!! Of course, I have no paperwork that might outline their terms and fees. I did miss 2 pmts, but subsequent to each one, BIG debited a larger-than-normal amount, so I figured that caught me up.

Background with bank for 1 year, have 4 accounts with them and have had secured card for 3 months. Since then I have paid down most of my debt except maybe a 1000 or so which I am paying on. My scores don't reflect this though although they rose 80 points from Jan

Has anyone heard of them before? I was approved for a loan but they are asking for collateral of seven months up front. They are sending a contract today which I can look over... I want to make sure this is legit. Is this something that sometimes lenders ask for? Any information would be very useful for me to make my decision.
