Hello. I'm new to this site and I've been reading through the posts and they have been helpful to some degree. However, it's difficult to figure out what steps I need to take to help my situation. I am currently in debt to 5 credit card companies for about $75,000 with varying interest rates that are continuing to rise. I have not yet missed any payments, nor do I intend to, but I don't have much money left to keep up at this rate, which is why I'm addressing it now. I can no longer afford the payments as my income has been cut by more than half.

OK here is my situation. I live in ohio. I have 3 store front loans which i know are legal. One at checksmart for $600, fee $87.50, and one at Express payroll (checksmarts sister companY) for $550, fee is $81.50, both of these loans are were returned by my bank so are delinquent, and they are telling me that i have to pay it by this friday may 9, and i cannot make partial payments of any kind it has to be the entire amount. I also have another delinquent loan for $500 fee is $75 at another store front company called always payday, no one has called me from there yet, that i am aware of.

Ok this is gonna be long. I claimed bankruptcy and it was discharged in May of 2006. Providian was showing on my credit as having a Credit card that was opened in jan of 2000 and went delinquent in Dec 2002. They eventually sold the debt to Pallisades. I claimed that credit card on my bankruptcy. When I went before the judge at Bankruptcy he stated that it was a showing as a secured card. I assured the Judge that I never had secured credit card for $1500.00(that was the limit on the card). I said it is reporting wrong then the Judge just said well they have it secured on something.

In light of the recent tragedy of the horse race does anyone agree that this is a horrible sport. I have horses and I think that the way that they are treated are awful. I went to one horse race two years ago and it was so hot the horse just fell over dead :cry: . A friend of ours works for the Horse track running the computers and he said this happens all of the time :twisted: . I informed my husband that I WOULD NEVER go to another horse race again :twisted: . That is my personal opinion. Thanks for all of your opinions...just wondering where everyone stood on this subject.

I have a question. Can you ask the collection agency to return the original debt back to the original creditor?

I know that there are many times when a guest comes here with the intent to cause trouble and when they say too much we edit their post. I'm wondering however in the attempt to try and curb their posting, how far do we let registered members taunt and unleash their spleen back? Do we begin to edit those post as well or do we make exceptions because they are registered members and the ToS do not apply as long as they are talking to a guest?

Hello All, I wish to sue a credit collector. midland credit management. I have sent two requests to the FTC today to seek help with Midlands FDCA and fdcpa violations which I have the documentation to back up. Do I find a lawyer? Where would I find a lawyer who deals with consumer law issues? Are these suits ever successful? Any ideas of what to brace for from any debt collector being sued and their reactions? My Thanx :)

I am so so so upset right now, I just want to scream, or cry or something. I don't know which. This is in regard to the Arrow Financial Case I have been working on for what seems like forever. Skydver helped me get the default motion vacated. But the judge set another court date, and gave me until the 21st of April to respond to the original complaint.

After a discharge notification is received from the court, is that it? I was told that although the discharge had been granted, the trustee had yet to file a determination of assets. This obviously got me wondering if the trustee will notify me months down the road that I have to pay something. My attorney sent me a letter saying everything was done, thanks for your business, blah, blah, but I just want to know that this humiliating experience is absolutely behind me now. I don't want to be blind-sided in the future.
