ok, I have a past due account with Citibank that is in the process of being settled. During this time I was told to not talk to anyone who called from Citibank. Well a week ago when UCB couldn't get in touch with me, they somehow got my mom's number and called her and proceeded to tell her about my debt and what I owe. Now I know this is a violation of the fdcpa, as they're not allowed to disclose info to 3rd parties.

This is old, but I think it's an interesting read.

They just called my hubby's work and told him they are serving him on Friday - he said that the guy that called him and then the guy that they "transferred" him to (attorney supposedly) sounded like the same guy - Does anyone have experience with this?

My fiance has three PDL out with this online companies. We bounced the payments on 4/18/08 because there was no way we were getting out of this rut. Since then, I have been informed that online PDL are ILLEGAL in Kentucky, therefore I feel we should only have to pay them the principal amount. I originally had a payment setup with PaydayLoanYes to have them charge my debit card for $305 as a settlement for $500. Then I found this out. I cancelled the authorization by reporting my card lost, then I had a new number reissued.

I got an odd missed call on my work phone last night. The number is (956) 504-2115 and 800notes says it comes from "A Concerned Citizen". What gives? Anyone heard of this?

Geneva Roth--I sent de-authorizing forms,closed acct, opened new acct at new bank--3 months later, $400 debit to them. How did they get info, and even if they did, how can they debit from a diff acct and diff bank than what was on original online loan app????

Hello everyone, any help will be great. I have asked for a creditor to stop calling my mom and sister/family harrasing and looking for me. I clearly told them I did not give them any other names or numbers to contact me at. They sent an out of court settlement letter (3 months ago) to my moms house. She told them to stop sending letters and calling her, then I called and said stop calling, sending mail and harrasing my mom. Today, they sent two sherrifs over to her house looking for me to serve a legal notice to either pay or go to court.

So today I was talking with a child support attorney. I am owed 37702 in back child support. When I mentioned that I am filing BK he had said that they can take my back support. Can anyone tell me how much the trustees can take of it? I have no exemptions well no cars nothing of BIG value.
