Calling all experts - Try something new, dont worry about it

I know we have experts from banking, payday loan, settlement and various other sectors. I request all of us to try our hands on expert article section. Pick up a topic that you feel is important for a new visitor to know, write it in an educative way (I will help in arranging it). http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/experts/index.html Sometimes many miles are not covered because we hesitate in taking the first step. Don't worry, just give it a try.

credit card question past due

Due to PDLS, I am currently 1 month past due on all credit cards. I understand this hurts my credit, but that's not the issue now. I HAVE to pay these PDLS off, as they are causing MAJOR issues for my life. If I skip my credit card payments for at least another month - 2 months, I can pay them off. Here's my question...What will I be facing with the credit cards after being that far past due? Will really need to payoff these PDLS. Do Credit card company's garnish wages??? Thanks I just have to get this figured out. Reny

Got a letter from the New York Attorney General

Even though it was more of an FYI letter, I now have a file number on my complaint and it has been forwarded to the Bureau of Consumer Fraud and Protection Unit at the AG's Office. At least now I have a number, name and address to which I can send my additional information, as it comes in. One small step in the bigger scheme of things I guess. I'll now wait for further investigation results. In the meantime, I am working on a different avenue which I hope will help in the endeavors to getting these slugs out of the business of illegally lending money. Keepy ya posted.

Cash Transfer Center help

I have an open loan with them and sent them a letter proposing I pay them in 4 payments rather than 1 lump sum. Their response was they were going to garnish my wages at work to get the money back. I know they are illegal...how can I stop them from doing it?

I went to see a lawyer yesterday

Basically, he isn't interested in taking any of my cases, without payment, of course. He said that he's sure there are several violations in my pile of debts, but he wasn't interested. Anyway, he told me something interesting yesterday. He said that a collection agency who is representing the original creditor doesn't have to provide very much in the way of validation. He stated that all a collection agency would need to do which would make it a legal validation, is to call the original creditor and ask if the debt is valid, then report back to the debtor, and that would be sufficient.

Are we on the right track?

Hello, we are new to the forum and are hoping to get help. My boyfriend and I are planning to get married, but first we want to catch up on his debts. We have lots of questions about where to start, so we apologize for such a long post. He has about $15000 in debt. Most of which is in collection, but a few are still with the original creditor. Most of the debt is Medical and Auto Loan/Lease related. In addition, there are some credit card, utilities, public transit and parking fines, all in collection. We already have a plan to pay this off by the end of 2009.

Got a message from someone

Got a message from someone claiming to be a private investigator named Brian Williams - he wanted a call-back to 866-367-3057, yet my Caller-Id read Unknown 000-000-0000. Anybody heard of "Brian the P.I."? or 866-367-3057? I figure it's a collector, just wondering which slimy company he's with.
