How will having a chapter 7 and a 13 affect my chances for buying a home? I had a 7 discharged 10/03 and now, due to a large judgment I had placed on me last year, I might need to consider chapter 13. I'm so depressed. I was just starting to improve my credit and now this. I don't even want to fathom what 2 bankruptcies on my credit report will look to potential lenders or will do to my credit score. Has anyone else here experienced 2 bankruptcies in a period of a few years?

Does anyone know what happens when the Cardit card company charges off your debt. I owe Capitol one, 1700.00, 1600.00 and 800.00. They got tha high from all their fees and late payment, over limit charges. They have all been turned over to collection, I get so many calls we stopped answering any 800 numbers.

Some breathing room for consumers hopefully will be on it's way for debtors sometime in the not so distant future. I implore the community to go to website and report of your own experiences with predatory debt and bill collectors. The more folks participate, the more likely that the laws to protect consumers will possibly be strengthened, better enforced and maybe even overhauled in our best interests.

I have debt with ING (Island National Group LLC) for a debt that I was offered a 1/2 agreeement. I made 1 payment on 04/03/08 and last night received a phone message saying I had a summons with a message to call. The Company Represented themselves as Brady and Caruso (Not sure of the spelling). I called this morning and it was regarding a debt I do not have.

How can I change my username? Thanks.

I have one credit card that I owe about 17,000 on. Its Household finance. I was going to try to find a settlement company, but I just got off the phone with Household and they are willing to lower my interest from 25% to 6% and cut my payments in half. They will allow me to set up payments as a hardship case. Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing? Is it a good thing to work things out with your credit card company and get into a payment plan with them. I have other cards, but the other ones won't work with me so I gave up on them.

Can someone please help me and tell me how to go about getting rid of these PDLs? I have already closed one of my bank accounts and plan to close the other before my next payday. I am trying decide if I should go through Langehorne or do it myself.

Here is a little insight into PDLs and internet marketing in general. One marketing type is Pay-per-click marketing. It's how Google and Yahoo make money. For example, go to Google and type Payday Loan. The results labeled "Sponsored Results" are companies that have chosen to have their advertisement appear for that term. The ads appear based mainly on "Bid Price". What this means, in Google or Yahoo they have set a price they are willing to pay for a click. So, while I would never encourage this :roll: , if you click a sponsored result you will cost them money.
