Kimberly Credit reviews anybody have any dealings with them?

18 years 1 month ago
Has anyone ever dealt with Kimberly Credit at all? I was about to get involved with Credit Solutions until I saw all the negative crap about them. So I have gone a different direction. The lady at Kimberly Credit that I spoke with on the phone said that dealing with a settlement company will destroy your credit and nothing good will come out of it. Now at first I was skeptical at what she was saying since I figured she is trying to make a sale, (which is still probably true).

Student Loan Default

18 years 1 month ago
I need advice before I sign anything. Just found out my 20 year old student loan has been in default since I started making $50 payments more than 20 years ago. Unfortunately, I don't have that in writing. Now it's with allied interstate - wages are about to be garnished/IRS refund garnished. My original $13000 loan, of which I've already paid over $14000, now has over $24000 owed. First step should be? Any way to fight this? Thanks.

3 of my payday loans are not even licensed in Oregon!!

18 years 1 month ago
My DH and I have a couple payday loans out, shocker, thats why we are all here. Anyway, I just did a search on the Oregon AG website and found out Loanshop, JVC Funding/Processing and USFastCash aren't even licensed in Oregon! So now what do I do? I filed with my AG regarding USFastCash and about to file against the other two companies as well.

Has anyone from Michigan fought and won with PDLs? I need to hear some success stories to keep my hopes up! :)

pd loans

why borrow from many companies. if you need more then what they are offering tell them no thank you. why not try and borrow from your bank instead of a high interest pd loan? these companies can help you out in tuff times and if you pay them right off you won't pay much at all. it would be less then paying a credit card back. i have read a lot on here and i see a bunch of adults who take MANY pd loans and then look for ways to rip them off and not pay them back per there contract. come on people stop doing this to your self its not the companies doing it to you.

What is a good starting point. . .

I found the link to the letters that you can send to your creditors. I think I am going to try this before I get myself involved in debt negotiation or any of that. My question is: What are the chances of my creditors working with me? And, in the letter to the creditors, it states that you ask them to accept a new balance (such as 50% of your balance). What is a good/safe amount to ask? Something that there is a chance they would find reasonable? Is 50% too high or to low?

United Cash Loans -- My Story, A Thank You, and Questions

18 years 1 month ago
Well, I'm never taking another payday loan again...even from legit shops. Back in January, I applied for an received a $300 payday loan from United Cash Loans. Unfortunately, it didn't occur to me to see if this place was a scam before doing it. After finding out they were a scam (and after they refused to let me pay off my loan), I let them debit my account for $360, $90 at a time ($300 for the original balance, $60 being near the max amount they could charge in TX), then put a stop payment on them.

PDL Refund Question

18 years 1 month ago
I've got an odd question. One of my PDL's has agreed to refund all the money charged beyond the princple amount, which is quite cool. The issue I have is what form of payment to accept, since I want to make sure that they have absolutely no way of getting my new account info (just in case). So, what would those of you with experience on getting refunds from these folks recommend as a payment method, i.e. cashier's check, money order, etc.? Thanks

Need some help here

I was scheduled for cancer surgery, and the hospital wanted 1300 down, even though I have very good insurance. I didn't have that type of cash, so I went to Payday Loan Store and got a loan for $1200. While I was in the hospital (4 days later) they decided to deposit my check, even though payment wasn't due for another 13 days. It just happened that the bank had deposited a company's deposit into my account by mistake, so the checks were covered. When I got home, I went to the bank, and told them what was going on.
