Can anyone recommend a good consumer attorney who specializes in debt collection? I checked with NACA and Consumer Advocacy Center in Illinois and have been unsuccessful in getting through to an attorney willing to review my collection matter. Any recommendations?

Hope yours looked more like spring than mine did. We got snow. 2 inches or so, and it's still coming down....

Has anyone dealt with these guys? Does anyone have the phone or fax numbers? I got them confused with a company called First Cash that is licensed where I live, but they aren't the same after all. There's no phone number with their debits and my bank is giving me the runaround about reversing them.

Not sure what to do and hoping someone here can ease my mind. My husband and I got stopped by the cops because he was driving 45 mph in a 30mph zone.. he doesnt have a license and we both have to appear in court on apr 2nd... We are currently residing in FL.. does anyone know if I will be needing a lawyer or what the penalty fee would be? thanks.

I received a call this evening from AMO. The girl on the line told me that she was trying to collected a debt for a Target card that I have. She claimed that Target had turned this account over to them for collections. I asked her for a debt validation and she told me that I had received a notice from them and they did not have to validate this debt. What they sent me was not a debt validation. She also told me that they would not work with any debt management service either.

I am sorry that you feel this way. However, we are not a pay day loancompany, we are a short-term installment loan company. Also, thecontracts that you signed and agreed to are governed under Utah state law,not New Jersey. With the afore mentioned, we are perfectly legal underNew Jersey laws.

I received a call from a John asking for me, it sounded like someone from the PDLs so I acted like I was my own secretary and said may I ask who is calling and he says is she there, I said hold a second. I got back on the phone and stated can I take a message and he said no I really need to talk to her, I said who are you with he says First National, give me your # and I will have her call you back and he says no I want to know where your corporate office is and her bosses # so he can resolve something. I said no sir give me your number and she will call you back in a few.
