I have some unsecured credit cards. I have heard that some will settle, and others won't. Which won't?

I have to appear in small claims court today to answer LVNV. I just found this forum, and was wondering how I can delay this. I was contacted by many different "companies", none would send me any kind of debt verification. My family was harassed by calls, as was I. I didn't make any payments. I originally owed Household Bank, who sold to LVNV. This was supposed to be off my CR this year I was told. Is it best to get a lawyer? Thanks for your help.

Can anyone direct me to a form letter that I can send to Checksmart in regards o their calls to my employer and my grandmother. I do not have the funds to pay them back, as I got caught up in having loans to four different payday loan lenders and I was basically giving my whole paycheck to these companies. Do I have any rights as a debtor to get this company to stop harassing me, my family and my employer? I know that I am going to have to repay them, but I cannot create money for them at this time. My employer is getting ticked off about the calls

I posted asking what may happen if I go to court. One thing I want to know is why in the hell would capital one give me and my fiance (my name is 1st on loan) an auto loan ($300/month) when they were planning on taking me to court for $2600.00?? If I owed them the money still....why would they give me an auto loan>??? I am wondering what the judge might think of this. Any ideas anyone??????~Angie...(confused??)

I had about 7 or 8 debts that were spread out over 7 years. Well I have paid them all off. My question is, when will this show up on my credit as paid?

I plan to show up in court and tell the judge that I had offered different payment amounts and negotiate with the company but nothing was ever good enough. I basically just told them I couldn't afford more than $100.00 a month.1st I offered $60 than $75 but then they basically told me if I wanted to avoid being sued I had to have the $2600.00 balance paid off within one year (thats more than $200. a month). I didn't know what to do after that. I got a summons so I plan on going. The original balance was 1600.00 bfore going to collections....it jumped over 1000.00 in collections.

I live in New Jersey and I have at this time 9 payday loans, they are as follows: VC Funding-$300 renewed loan but paid on previous loan $910 and on the one before that I paid about $800 on this one I have paid $360. B&L Marketing-$300 same as above. Impact Cash-$300 paid them $450 Loan Shop/Viking(North Ventures)-$300 had a loan for 6 months and paid $1170 but when I called they paid this one off only if I would renew-now I have paid $900. Magnum Cash Advance-I do not know how much I have paid them but my original loan was $1200.
