My wife has an old debt (from buying a computer 6-7 years ago - about $1600 currently) that has essentially no activity since then. She has lived in Missouri for ~3 years; the debt was incurred in Pennsylvania. We've been married 9 months. The one bit of activity is that we sent the current collections agency a $10 check last August. The check had my name on it, the envelope had hers. The CA acknowledged receipt of partial payment, and we have not contacted them in any way since. Was that enough to restart the statute of limitations on this?

I have a few charge offs ranging from two to four years ago. I am getting ready to pay all of these off within the month. How will this affect my credit rating and is there a way that I can get them taken off my credit report after I have paid them off?

from USFast Cash. I sent my letters (via email) last week to all my favorite people. Today I got an email stating that the email they received had no attachments or documentation. At first I thought that perhaps I had sent a blank email but I went back and checked and it doesn't appear to be so. Then I wondered why they would be asking for documentation or attachments if the email was blank? If they think for a nano second that I am turning over my bank records to them, they best think again. Wouldn't ya think that they would HAVE all the records of payment received.

I just got a summons today saying that Bank of America is suing me for 6,000 roughly. Im 25 yrs old and made the mistake of taking out several credit cards a few years ago at a young age. I was in college for 4 1/2 years and also had about 20,000 dollars in student loans. I have a extensive history of anxiety and depression in my family. I thought i didn't get any of it until i was about 21. I started sleeping too much, missing class, giving up on everything. I stopped paying all of my bills and got really really behind.
