I recently got a letter/summons to appear in court because I was being charged with a Class A misdemeanor in the state of Indiana. I immediately called the court to find out who was charging me. I had no recollection of writing a bad check to this place, as I have written many checks to them with no problem. I looked at my bank record and a few months ago a check did bounce. I didn't even realize it until now. I also noticed that this same place cashed two more checks after the one bounced. So my question is, should I get a lawyer?

I am writing today from a hospital in Rockford,Il. My son was the teaching assistant that was critically injured in Thursday's shooting at NIU. He has just been upgraded to serious. I thank God every minute that he survived this horrible experience. Recovery should be complete albeit slow. I ask for your thoughts and prayers not only for my son but all the students and parents involved as my heart goes out to them all. Thank you (Sharon)

I was recently served with a Sheriff's Entry Of Service Summons, that I was being sued because of non-payment on a credit card that I had not made any payments for over four years. This credit card was sold to Worldwide Asset Purchasing, II, LLC by the original card owner. My questions is does the statute of limitations SOL offer any defense in my case, as I have 30 days to answer to the summons and file it with our Superior Court Clerk with 30 days or the firm will be given a default judgement. What steps do I need to take, I need a "blank" letter of dispute with SOL. HELP PLEASE!

Does anyone have experience with Bank of America? Are they pretty good at helping you block these ACH debits? Some banks are pretty cold hearted and it is almost like they want you to overdraft so they can collect their fees.
