what are your fees to settle a debt of 37500.

does anyone know this phone #, or have been contacted by them? they said on my voicemail, they were with a lawfirm, and if i dont respond, the will turn it in to our police/county here, and basically we are in big trouble, they gave a case #, bu i still dont know what this is, or i could send a letter. any help is appreciated!

I am a SAHM and have not worked for almost 3 years. I've built up debt on 1 card to about $30,000 and my husband doesn't know. Before the card was maxed I was able to make min payments by putting all my monthly expenses on the card. Now that it is maxed I can't make payments and buy groceries etc. I was thinking about filing for bankruptcy alone but now my spouse is losing his job and we have to sell our home and move to another state. Problem there is I don't think we will be in this state long enough to file here.

Has anyone ever dealt with Harris And Dial? they claim to be a law firm and call me constantly. I've actually been trying to get their address to confirm whatever debt they say i have and can't seem to get that far. While we're on the subject, I still can't get in contact with RJM...i call and i'm on hold, i sent a fax per there message and never heard back. And that's the one place that i know for sure is holding a debt of mine that I'd like to actually begin to rectify.

so have anyone been able to contact this company yet? How are they able to get away with this?

I contacted this debtor about a delinquent debt of his for $3750. He said he had a cashiers check for $5000, and he would endorse it over to my company if I returned him the $1250. So, when I got the check, I returned him his money. Well, I should never have trusted a debtor. Two weeks later, we find out his check is no good and my company is making me pay back the money. And you debtors wonder why we are so contemptuous of you.

I am hoping you will not mind answering a fairly simple question for me. I am a Canadian citizen and have a timeshare property in Florida - we owe and are willing to pay the outstanding maintenance fees we have however we could not pay them fast enough for the resorts liking. They have referred our debt to a collection agency which is charging us (upfront) fees equaling nearly 40% of the debt - on top of the debt.

I know the Mortgage Relief Act was passed which is awesome! That will give much relief to those of us who went thru a short sale or foreclosure. My question is-are lenders still suppose to send out 1099c's? I closed in October '07 and really want to do my taxes but not sure if I need to wait for that.I already got my 1098 from them but that was it. I called the lender to inquire about the 1099-what a joke. They knew nothing and told me to call the IRS. Yeah, OK.

I just received a letter from a collection agency for $424. Here's some background. I believe this is an old department store credit card that I thought I paid off in Sept 2005 when the balance was $57. We had just sold our house and paid off all our debt with the equity. It's now been two years and I'm just being notified of this debt. The problem is, it's not the same department store now. They were bought out by Macy's and I'm sure Macy's sold all the past due collections stuff for pennies on the dollar to this collection agency.
