I was searching through the internet when i came across this wonderful site. I have three credit cards and their loans have been accumulated over a period of two years. I am now close to paying off about nearly all of them and i was looking forward to a debt free life, until out of the blue, my daughter came up with her credit card debts. She is currently not working anywhere and my wages are not sufficient to pay off my debts as well as hers.

Hello, I have read through the forums with interest and seem to keep getting "mixed" info. First, my personal info, I live in Ohio, with 2 pdls in default: Checksmart - 400 borrowed (460 total in default) Cashland - 400 borrowed (520 total in default) Cashland is being fairly decent, mildly stern calls to my home and now work (my phone is disconnected), but Checksmart has been ridiculous--they called my house before the disconnection and told my 14 year old son that "His daddy was a bad man and was going to prison", they have called my references, including my mother who is easily freake

I live in N.C, I owe about $10.000 in doctor bills, gym, cell phone etc. I don't have a job, I have a daughter, I live with my parents and 2 brothers, I don't have any money my parents pay for every thing, and I get some money from my daughter's father, I don't work because I am not legal to work in this country, I am in the process of..... I don't own anything, a car, cc, etc. And therefore I can't pay that debt, what can I do? What options do I have? And what can debt collectors do against me?

Hi folks, just joined the site tonight, lots of great helpful info here. I was wondering if, assuming I am eligible for chapter 7, would I have to give up everything I own? Actually, I do not own much, I rent, and I am paying the last 16 months or so on a used car that is currently worth about 5k, and I have another vehicle that has a book value of $750 and an old truck with 200,000 miles that books at 2k. Sounds like a lot, but really it isn't. In fact the truck doesn't even run. I know this question may seem silly, but do creditors go after things like $750, 20 year old cars?

Well we need a new (used) car. I have 3 charge offs,total of $500 or so, nothing else. One positive TL paid on time for a year or so (low limit CC) wife has a few judgments (medical)and a few charge offs. One or two low limit cards, never late. We can get a 2006 Grand Prix, 35,000 miles, 2000 down, 60 month loan but payments will be around $350 a month. I figured it out, that's like 20% interest. Our household income is around 90k. We can afford the payments, I know the interest rate is very high but is it high considering our credit history?

I checked my mail today and I didn't get much. A few pieces of junk mail, a doctors bill and another bill. I almost tossed a small envelope in the trash because I thought it could be junk mail. The return address was just a sticker on the back and the name looked like it had been cut off. My daughter encourage me to open it so I did. It was a 100 dollar AMEX gift card. I almost threw that away!!! I will be writing a thank you letter tomorrow and sending that off immediatly. WOW! I will be extra careful to go through my junk mail from now on.

does a collection agency have to be listed on a summons as either a assignee along with orginal creditor or just themselves if they have bought the debt? i guess what i am saying if they are working for OC the summons has to have them on it as assignee.instead of just having the OC and the attorney as plantiffs

I have fallen way behind and have started to deal with several loss prevention depts. One account did go over 6 months and was turned over. It was Target and it was turned over to LTD Limited. When I offer to deal on my terms they say not good enough and Target will not accept that. My understanding is that Target can NOT deal with me now since it is over 6 months , is that correct. LTD said in Ohio they have ways of "coming after me" , any idea what that means.

Hello, I happened to take out a cash advance with a PDL company. After renewing the loan for about 2 times. When I was due for my 3rd renewal I went thru some financial difficulties which caused me to be unable to make a payment on my due date of renewal for payment in the loan. The cash advance made 3 drafts which all added together totaled the principal balance plus the renewal fees. With those 3 payments being drafter without my account having any money they overdraw me 3 times on that date. They did the same thing 2 days after, and did it 4 times on the same month.
