Does the 4 year sol begin from the date of debt with a medical facility or the date the debt was sold to a collection agency?

How do I proceed and protect myself?? I live in California and I got into some CC debt and 2.5 years ago I stopped making payments on my debts and I started the process for bankruptcy. It took me a year to pay off the attorney but then I got tied up taking care of a sick relative and dropped the ball. Currently I have an opportunity to settle with the CA's thanks to a friend and a relative helping me and I wanted to take care of the two largest debts, 2 Bank of America charge offs that were bought by Asset Acceptance.

I have a check from my car ins company made out to both my self and my husband can I cash this at my walmart

Professional Bureau of Collections Maryland are expectine me to western union then oney by 5pm today. What can I do? I asked them if I could mail a money order they said no. I want to pay this bill but do not have $684.00 right now. I have $100.00 to western union but there is a fee. Any help? Thanks Cindy

I took a payday loan out from Speedycash ONLINE. I live in Louisiana. When I pull up the license information for Louisiana at the Speedycash website, it lists MISSOURI as the governing state laws. ?!?! I was loaned $500. In the state of Louisiana, apparently only $345 can be loaned MAX. So this loan is illegal, yes? No? I contacted Speedycash but they have already turned it over to Ad Astra, teh collection people. What are my options for this? It also apparently is being reported on my credit!

I have a loan with MBS Loans the amount of loan is $300. I have already paid $545.00 in fees. I sent a email to them asking them to close the loan out as I have already paid over the loan amount in fees by $245.00 Can any one offer any suggestions. Also I have another loan with Fresh Start for $600 I have already paid in fees $720 I received a email today from them stating my loan is paid in full. When I call to confirm they said it was a mistake. I have been in this PDL trap before, I know it was stupid to take these loans out but I was in an accident and got behind on bills.

I found MediCredit on my credit report. Apparently they put a non-existent "account" in collections. We paid them IN FULL in 2008. Now, 4 years later in 2012, they call us claiming we owe them money. We've NEVER gotten any statements, invoices, bills, etc. from them validating this claim, since paying them off. Is there a way to validate this debt, considering it honestly is not valid? :mad:
