I just received a summons through regular mail (as well as via certified mail, but was not home to receive it) from LVNV a/p/o HSBC. It is for a debt of 2750.00, which includes fees etc. In reading this forum, I am a little afraid to try to contact them to make a lump sum settlement (I have the money, but am afraid they will try to screw me over.) Three questions - Should I do a debt validation with LVNV funding via certified mail? How much should I offer as a settlement, or should I let them go first.

I have four different payday loans. 2 are internet PDL's and 2 are store front. I continue to receive harrassing phonecalls from one of the internet pdl's, payday loan yes, at work. I asked them to stop calling me at work and the gentleman said well, I'm putting on your account to only call you at work from now on. How do I get them to stop calling me at work? Is it true that a C&D letter will not work with PDL's? I'm located in WA state so I have no clue what my rights are. Please help! Thanks!

I have defaulted on 5 pay day loans 4 store front and 1 on the internet, I live in Iowa and I am feeling so overwhelmed, I have 3 children to support through this... I don't know what to do I feel like I could lose it!! I cry daily and pray for something to help me with these horrible places, I really need some support!!

I realized yesterday that a majority (over half) of my debt is from military related credit cards. I spoke to an individual from Superior Debt and he said that they cannot settle those cards because they are military affliated. I cannot afford to pay $600+ to a debt consolidation company and debt settlement will not work because of the aforementioned cards. I cannot file for bankruptcy because I will lose my security clearance. Am I screwed...??

Hey everyone. I was behind on my Bank America Asiana Visa card. I was behind about 4 months and had a balance of $6582.00. After dodging the phone calls from FIA Card Services (I guess its their collections department), I finally spoke with them. I wanted to pay me debt and asked them what are my options on paying them back. First, they wanted to settle for $3,000. I was happy with that amount but I told them that I couldn't afford it.

Hey Everyone ~ I just wanted everyone to know that I am still here, but there has been so much stuff going on, not able to get on here very much right now. Not only that, I have been going through some upsetting and trying times right now, that I don't know that I would do anyone much good. My boss had quit, now the Estimator here has become my boss and he has made it very stressful and trying around here that I am starting to look for another job. I have been with this company for going on 5 years and really hate to leave, but do not think I can put up with much more.

For any of you, like myself, who are interested in putting a halt to the predatory lending practices of payday lenders, the above bill needs your support. It is still in the development stages and the agency representing the payday lenders has already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars lobbying against it. I urge you to write/email/call your representatives in support of this bill. You can google "H.R. 2871" and read about its progress. It is not likely that it will pass as a stand alone bill but might get through as part of a larger bill.

I have 4 pdl. 2 for express check advance, $345 each; 1 for seneca quick cash, $345; and 2 for advance america, $345 and $172.50. The fees are include in the totals. Due to my work, I will not net enough to pay these loans. What do you advise?
