OK, This now has me wondering. What is the difference between Verification of a debt versus the Validation of a debt? I sent a letter to NAFS, asking for Validation of the claim they were making. I got a reply back, stating that Verification was enclosed. In my letter, I specifically stated: Please provide me with the following: 1. What the money you say I owe is for 2. Explain and show me how you calculated what you say I owe 3. Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe 4. Provide a verification or copy of any judgment if applicable 5.

I just got call today at work from these people saying I could pay my dept off for less than I owe. Is this legit? Should I take the settlement and pay it off? Of course I would not do it unless I have something in writting first but will they really stop anyone else for trying ot collect? It is a CC that my pregnate wife forgot to pay, everything else we are up to date on. We had just moved and it fell through the cracks so to speak. Yes it is behind now, but we can not just write a check to pay ti off. I am working three jobs to pay it off and hope to be able to do so in 2 or 3 months.

I have two collections from Aargon Agency INC that I am almost 100% positive are from the same OC of University Medical Center. The first lists this OC, with an original amount of $276 and a past due $313 collection account. The other has the original creditor as OPS2 LLC and that sounds like a CA to me! It lists the original amount as $276 and a past due $382 collection account. Now what line would reflect the SOL?

They are the third largest mortgage servicing company in the country. What makes them so evil? Imagine you have been paying your mortgage on time every month for years. Then your loan gets sold to Ocwen. You send payment to them.
