A creditor filed for garnishment of my account(s). I filed a timely objection, a hearing was scheduled. Bank was instructed to continue hold until futher notice of court. Bank released funds prior to hearing including a portion that is exempt from garnishment under Michigan law ; defying a court order. What is my recourse against the bank and whomever took delivery of the funds?

Hello I am currently with a debt settlement company Debtshield. I've been with them since December 0f 2006. I owe about $28,000 in unsecured debt, which maybe $4,000 has been settled. I pay them $500.00 a month. The past few months I have not been able to make a payment and it seems I will no longer be a client. Simply stated per the agreement I signed, if they don't get their monthly fee every month, they will drop you. The monthly fee is a calculation of the total dollars still remaining to be settled. In my case it's around $168.00 a month. The fee drops as accounts are settled.

I would like to find a way to get out of the payday loan trap. Every payday I pay excessive amounts of money and not able to pay all of my other bills from having these payday loans. Is there a way to combine all of these payday loans and to pay them off where I can get out of this trap. Please help me desperate in weatherford texas.

My girlfriend received a notice of intent to sue from a debt collector. It says she has 20 days to respond and deny the claim. What should she put in the letter to deny the amount. Original amount was $7,500 and now they want over $30,000 with interest.

I don't really even know where to start. I had a few maxed out credit cards that i had consolidated with citifinancial. Soon after i decided it would be alright if i just used the credit cards again for emergency situations. That soon turned into splurging for no apparent reason. Now i have several maxed credit cards and a payment due to citifinancial. I am barely skimming by, so much so that i dont know how i am going to eat the next few weeks. To top it all off, i took a payday loan from a company called USFastCash that i now know is illegal, i dont know what to even do about it..

Ive worked myself beyond my means, i am now struggling paycheck to paycheck. I know there is no quick fix, but I am working to get myself out of debt in any way possible.

This forum has given me very valuable information on PDL's. Now..I have a 'tough' question. I recieved from a company called Cash Call. They are based in California. I live in PA. Cash Call chargers nearly %99. Obviously, I couldn't afford the payments. PDL's don't appear on credit reports, but, Cash Call is on mine. I don't think they are 'legit' because of all the % they charge. Any advice from 'you wonderful people'?

HHmmm....just thinking about payday loan laws in all the states and how some states have such protective laws and other's don't...I wonder if any change would occur if we wrote a letter pointing out the differences and showing what some states have done (such as prohibiting pdls period or capping them all at 33%)and then all signing it...I'm sure we could collect hundreds if not thousands of signatures...and then sent the letter off to the AG's/DFI in every state....the government (senators, etc.). Any comments/ideas??

Does anyone know if WAMU checking account (online) does a chexsystem or teletrack or any of the many other checks to see if I qualify? I noticed that they want my ss number and drivers license number on the online appllication. Any help would be great with this. thanks
