So, everything was going great today at work until I got a call from the fraud department with GFSIL. I told the lady not to call me at work anymore and hung up on her. Well then she called again within a couple of minutes and tried to pull the 'take you to jail for fraud' crap. I then proceeded to tell her that payday loans were illegal in NC and that I had been told by the attorney general's office that they couldn't take me to jail because they were operating illegally. She then asked for the AG's phone number, so I gave it to her and told her I knew he'd be so HAPPY to hear from them!

What happens when a debt validation letter is sent to a law firm representing a junk debt collector? I tried to deal with this collection company's law firm by offering via letter $700 for a $343 charge-off. They claim I owe them $1,392. I could only get them to budge a 100 dollars from that amount. So, out of anger, decided to certify letter the law office and 1st class mailed the collector represented by the law firm with a validation note. I am really not wishing to avoid paying the debt, but at that amount they are being GREEDY!

hi, I own a small business and own one of my vendors quite a bit of money. I have been making payments and just made $18,000 in payments two weeks ago. They are calling me again requesting more money or they are assigning me to an attorney. Can they do that if they are receiving payments even if they are past due? Thanks

Are there any consolidation loans for PDL's?

I am so frustrated! As some of you know, when this PDL mess first started was when my direct deposit got interuppted and my live check laid on my bosses desk while he was away for a couple days. I tried like a jerk to take another Pay day loan to keep the others from bouncing and so on. Wrong! I went to the bank and the assistant Manager refunded all my fees but refused to let me close my account and the whole mess started over again. I went to the manager and she put my account on deposit only but would not reverse the new fees.

i live in AZ i have only been here for about 3yrs and up until recently my financial situation was very comfortable i always had money to spend until my fiance lost his job and i got caught in the payday loan loop. it got so bad that i was taking out payday loans to pay other payday loan fees. They call me a million times a day at home and work, i am about to lose my job because of the phone calls and i am at my witt's end i want to pay them but just can't afford it.

My husband was served with a lawsuit from Palisades Collections LLC. Using a lawyer from our state this is the only contact we have ever had with this collection agency or the lawyer. No one can answer the question can a debt collector sue you with out ever making contact with you before filing a lawsuit? The first we had ever herd of them was when the police officer knocked on the door with the court papers.

UGH - I had such a great post and I got an error when I hit submit. I hate when that happens. Anyway I tried to login in to my accounts on both sites and both logins failed. I faxed a letter to CPD late last week telling them I was no longer going to send moneygrams now that I had paid back past the principle and also had paid more than 25% interest. Do you think they have closed me out? If they have I will have only 3 outstanding loans left. That means I would have been able to get 12 PIF's. I can't believe it and I won't count on it yet.

Just received a threatening phone call from a Andy Watkins from genova roth saying they have filed a complaint against me and they would like to talk to at my place of employment. Isn't genova roth a ipdl and are they licensed. I had a $300 loan that I paid $450 back. Its freaking me out what do I do now
