Hi, I'll keep my story short: mom passed away some years ago, I then couldn't function, quit my job, bounced around at menial jobs, couldn't concentrate, and during all this I was in "retail therapy." Thus my present predicament. ~$20K in debt. I am stone broke, and it's my fault, didn't (or couldn't) pay attention to the signals... Sooo, I've finally got a full time job, and I got the news tonight that I was hired for a 2nd job! This should get me up to speed on my payments.

For anyone who knows: In the event there is an order to garnish bank accounts, how does this work? For instance, I am self-employed (as an LLC); all my bank accounts are either titled in the name of my companies (as a commercial account) or with my wife as joint tenant. I am trying to settle some debt and am concerned that if I am taken to court by any of the creditors, that they will try to garnish bank accounts. It was my understanding that an account cannot be garnished if it is also in another person's name.

I currently have 3 payday loans that are eating me up with interest only charges, cant afford to pay anything down on them. Can anyone help me get out of the pay loan misery? Live in Wisconsin, loans are all internet loans. CashNetUSA, Interim Cash Ltd and Geneva-Roth Capital are the companies I have them with. Anybody know what I can do to stop this nightmare? Does anyone know if these companies will work with you? Yikes

I have all but one of my payday loans with T & C and it has been going well until I found out that they had not been distributing payments correctly as in our contract. My husband and I both had loans with Checkmate. Mine was more. We contracted to pay $25.00 per month on mine and $10.00 per month on my husband's. I just found out that no payments have been applied to my husband's loan and all of them were applied to mine. I called T & C and they are going to immediately send payment to my hubby's loan to fix their mistake.

I have two student loans that are in good standing, three credit cards that are over the limit but I am paying a little more than minimum payment on them, a school debt that just went into collections and I just want to consolidate all these debts.

I live in Rhode Island. I originally had 6 payday loans - all through internet companies, I've paid off 2. I closed my checking account to stop the madness and to try to catch up.

I am currently a student at DeVry University. I have one more year to go. By the time i finish i will have almost 40,000 in student loans. Now, at the time being i am currently clearing up all of my debt like my credit cards and old accounts on my credit reports, so i will not have any other outstanding debt once im done. My question is i know i will have my 6 month grace period, what is the BEST way not to default on my student loans,i knowi have to pay every month but things do come up.

I can't deal with this anymore. Does anyone know of a lawyer that can help with payday loans, not break me the rest of the way in money for his fee, and let me make payments bi-weekly with payroll?

My AG here in Indiana sent me a letter a couple of weeks ago saying they would "mediate" on my behalf since they couldn't justify taking my complaints to court. I dind't know what to expect and since I hadn't heard anything was a little downhearted at the response. However...today I got a call from one of my ipdls...saying they had a complaint letter from my AG and wished to resolve the issue today. They marked me PIF. Another one down... Just thought I'd let you know that the system does work even though it takes some time and paperwork on our end. Keep filing and give it time...:)
