It's me again...when i first signed up with Town and Country I was feeling better about my situation with the PDL's...but now it seems i'm in worse shape..i paid the initial fee of $215 to T&C and put stop payments on the PDL's..costing me close to $200 to do so....mind you it took almost a week to get a reversal back to my account as they still allowed those payments to come thru on my payday(fri)..but the money was put back on the following tues.i closed out my acct but the bank said should the PDL companies come back for a different amount..the acct would reopen...

Hey, for anyone in NC who is interested, I just got off the phone with the Attorney General's office and he said that payday loans are ILLEGAL in NC, period!! If you took one (or 7 like I did) out, then you are not legally obligated to pay them back a dime! You are NOT committing fraud, THEY are! They are not allowed to report it to the credit bureaus, and they cannot put out a summons for your arrest. He also said that even you feel that you should morally pay them back, you might be making it harder for yourself. They usually will not settle for part of it, they want ALL of it.

I am at wit's end! I have poured through all these posts/suggestions and used letters from this site and nothing seems to be working. I am dealing with two bottom feeders...CACV and LVNV Funding both of whom zipped me over to their equally bottom-feeding attorneys. I am not dealing with the CA's, I am now dealing with the attorneys. In both cases, I sent the attorneys a validation letter (certified/return receipt)as posted on this site. In response, I received a SUMMONS from one attorney for "Pre-Trial Mediation" and from the other attorney I was served papers that I was being sued.

I'm finally getting around to contacting the Florida AG regarding my PDLs. I'm just looking for some advice on how exactly I should word my letter. Any advice?

From a Robert Mathews from "crime division" reguarding US Federal bank. First off I have to say I could barely understand him he had a real thick accent. It sounded like he was calling from a pay phone very loud and muffled. He told me that I was going to be "downloaded" by 12:00 today. He argured with me and I asked him over and over to send me something in writing he refused. He gave me a balance of 2,390 for payday loans. He started arguing with me over the phone and I just said look I cant talk to you now about this. I told him I would have my attorney call him.

Is it true that if a pdl is operating illegally in your state that the reality is that you do not have to pay them anything? Dont they know this? Why do they insist on taking well over the loan amount if in fact they could easily have gotten nothing I live in NY and these places are not legal here. They should not have loaned in the first place. Am I correct
