Midland Credit acquired my Verizon Wireless account

18 years 8 months ago
In late March upon discovering a Verizon Wireless account on my credit file I wrote verizon a letter asking who, what, when, where etc. About two weeks letter this account was acquired by midland credit management, who promptly called me about this much to my surprise. I told them not to call me anymore that I had no idea about the debt etc. They asked I send them a police report and when I refused due to lack of information, they threatened legal action.

Does anyone have info on how to obtain private lender loans? I am not looking into Prosper - already have a small loan with them. I am not a student. Looking for about $2000, poor credit history.

HBSC served me with papers

I just got served by the County small claims court for a 600.00 claim by HSBC. The strange thing about this is that I had gotten a letter from a third party collector regarding this some months ago. I noticed on my credit report that the account was still open and not charged off. I sent a letter to the collector stating that I owed the money to HSBC and preferred dealing with them. I sent HSBC a certified letter tellong them that I wanted to make arrangements to pay them and get my account in good standing.

now what? advice/direction needed

18 years 8 months ago
Hi, all. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Not to spoil it, but I could use some advice/ glimmer of hope/ direction. I've been reading up all over the 'net this past week trying to figure out how to proceed. Long story, short: I have accumulated $40k+ in credit card debt on multiple cards, and the crows have finally come home to roost. Up until about 6 months ago, I had been barely managing (though my credit rating was still good), but then I missed a payment, then another, and things snowballed.

Court Tomorrow

Well it's almost here! And i'll tell u, i'm a nervous wreck! Anyone know what to expect? Will they allow me to work out payment plans which that's all i've EVER wanted to do but CACH insisted I pay the debt in full. Now, if I could do that i would have NEVER got behind to begin with. Seems a little unrealistic to me that they refuse payment plans for someone who's behind on their bills. Also, their asking me to bring a few things along, bank statements (anyone know how many?), tax returns (5 years), any asset I have and something showing what i pay for rent.

Are they All Lawyers?

18 years 8 months ago
A lawyer from Bank of America called me this weekend. DO BofA lawyers work on Saturday? I looked up the local number and it is from a Law Office of Fred J. Hanna. He is a member of the Georgia Bar. Can a debt collector say they are a BOA lawyer?

I Just Got A Call

18 years 8 months ago
It is %&$*& 7:00 in the AM and just got a call from my grandmother. Apparently the Creditors Interchange called her "looking for me" they said they had a "case number". My grandmother is freaking out. That has to be against the law. I am going to sue them.

Where No One Has Gone

Workouts are available from each and every one of your creditors if you qualify. I have a discover, MBNA (FIA CARD SERVICES) and a Capital One. Each creditor after showing them my tax return and latest income statement allowed me a workout. I did not have to sign up with some fast talking telemarketer.
