how do i know if a credit check was ran on me?

I came here to ask help on the best way to work out my debt. I owe around 20K cc debt with my Partner. We have around 1000 extra left after all bills and minimum payments. Ive never been late on payments and Ive never missed a payment. It seems like this is going to go on forever though. If I call my creditors and ask them to reduce the amount I owe but some certain % will they cooperate with me even though I have no problems paying the bills? Ive learned my lessons and I'm ready to move on and start living again. Thanks.

After not being able to have my checking account for almost 2 years because of the mess the PDL's put me through my bank has opened a New Checking Account for me as of today!!!!!! I went to talk to them on Monday and signed up for their "second chance" checking account-I even had to write on the paper why I feel I should be allowed to have another checking account.

I had a credit card, with a fairly large balance, however I paid them a good chunk all at once a few months ago, since then my income (being self employed) has been minimal, needless to say I missed a few payments on my credit card. Now the debt has been turned over to Allied and I got my first harassing call yesterday. I know I owe this money, but can't pay it all right now, the guy wouldn't even listen to me, he just kept rudely asking me what I was going to do about it, and that it needs to be taken care of in two days.

This an update from my 1st post. I contacted Westbury about the specifics of my debt. They acted at first that they were acting on behalf of the loan company. When I asked for the specific name of the loan company , thats when they told me Westbury and the loan company were the same. He told me that Westbury has over 15 different names that they loan under and he did not know which name my debt was under. When I asked for the physical address, he would not give it to me. When he gave me the Moneygram info, he mistakenly gave me Wilmington, Delaware as their city and state code.
