they called me asking for some one i used to be friends with. i finally got them to say it was personal business. this person has another to do with this number or address. why i am getting her debt calls. how do i protect myself from any scam. i gave them no info

:confused:I have two payday loans that i thought i could consolidate into one payment. I found a company called solid ground financial that said they could help me but i am kind of scared to work with them mainly because they said i would have to close my bank account open a new one and that they have temporary power of attorney over me which i think is a little strange but anyways i have also tried to look up my state laws for payday loans and i really do not know what i am looking for.

Are they legal in CT?

I read a posting from someone else (a person, not a company) that stated a CA, like Midland Funding cannot legally collect monies owed on an account if the original owner of that account has already written the account off on their taxes as a loss, or filed a claim with their insurance company on the loss, is that true? If it is true, how would I, the consumer, find that out? Thanks

Good Morning: Quick question: If your loan from a illegal lender in your state is sold to a collection agency in your state, is the loan still illegal since you sign up with an illegal lender in the first place and the collection agency purchase an illegal loan to begin with? As I was checking my credit report Midland Funding LLC had popped up and it was brought to my attention they are trying to come after me for $1,508.00 and it says the account was opened on 5/1/2012? If I am thinking correctly, it is for a TMobile bill from 2009...why is it saying that the account was opened this year?

I have a total of 4 payday loans totaling bout $2500. Payless financial says for a fee of $148.95 I can consolidate these loans for a monthly payment of $220 for 6 mos. the $220 is less than 1/2 of what I'm paying now out of my S/S disability & would really ease the crunch I've put myself in. I NEED to know if said company is legit & what they say can be done. I live in Tennessee. Thanks so very much
