I had a debt charged off to Asset Acceptance, who I've been paying for a while now. I just called them and asked to have my balance sent to me in writing. They said they can't because then if I stop paying they won't be able to charge me for the interest they've stopped charging me with my payment agreement. It made sense when she explained it, but it still seems strange that I can't get anything in writing. The lady I deal with has always been nice to me; this just seems like a strange policy. Any ideas?

Hi all. Hopefully one of you can give me some advice about a strange letter I received today. I just opened a letter from a RJM Acquisitions Funding LLC concerning a Fingerhut account I had loooong ago. Before I go any further, let me tell you about my relationship with the wonderous company known as Fingerhut: Many moons ago I had ordered a pair of tennis shoes and a workout video for a female friend of mine. Total cost: aprox. $100.00 - $150.00. Now here's where it get funny... say if the payment date was Jan.

Here's the problem. I owe a student loan from 1995. I went to school in NY for about 3 months, got suspended cause my mom, who I thought actually took the loan, never paid anything the whole time. In August of that year they told me I had to pay the loan anyway. If I can go back to school I would pay it but I cant afford to quit my job to go if my wages are being garnished. I want to pay it but not at 15%. Is there anything I can do? If I can consolidate my debts I can make one payment a month instead of three or four a month when they are all due around the same time. So, thats my problem.

Okay, here is my stupid situation. I live in California I recently filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy(meeting of creditors end of April). I have 7 300.00 storefront payday loans due in full on first of each month. Here are the questions.... Can I include them in my bankruptcy? Should I opt out of the binding arbitration clause in their contracts? HOW DO I STOP THEM FROM ACH MY ACCOUNT ON MAY 1ST? Should I close account, deal with aftermath....have insufficient funds in bank on 1st of month....tell them I've filed for bankruptcy and their is (or will be) an automatic stay?

I have excellent credit, and I would like to consolidate my debt, but I do not the debt consolidation to affect my credit. Thanks

i recentally tried to pull up my credit report on line and there was a error message ststingthat the information i givin was incorrect about a morgage.I have never had or applied for a credit card,loan or morgage. I have red flaged the 3 credit bureus and am lost from here - how do i find out exactally all the info on my report and where do i go fromm here?

I'm being sued by a debt collector for a credit card debt I stop paying 3 years ago. What would it happend if i dont pay at if I dont do anything this point? I can't make the payments they are asking for and I would like to know what would be the effect of a court judgement against me in my credit report? Can they repossed a car let say? PD Im in the state of Texas.
