I am in a situation where I am livivng paycheck to paycheck. All because of mistakes I made YEARS ago. I went through a divorce in 2001. We have one child together. Between the divorce, a low paying job and raising a child - I accrude quite the serious debt. I have since paid off all of my debt, but my credit score is still too low for me to get a loan to consolidate my current debt. And, it keeps going. Are the law different for store front loans compared to internet loans. I guess what I am asking is if store front loans are illegal in a state does that mean internet loans are illegal. I am in Oregon. Are store front loans leagal, and are internet loans legal. Or is it the same for both. I am probably not being clear in my question, but I was reading a post saying payday loans were illegal in a ceetain state. I was just wondering if the legal status was the same for both internet and store front. Mine are all internet, but I just wondered.

My wife had an account with MBNA that went unpaid and was sent to collections. After a few years of dodging calls, she was able to make arrangements to pay. She allowed MBNA to take money out of her checking account monthly for one year, and the debt would be settled. After 11 months of money being taken out, MBNA did not take out for the 12th month. Then, they claimed that by not paying the 12th installment, she broke the agreement. Since then, she has been sued, and now there is an attempt to garnish her wages.

I have had 3 calls from this phone number. I do know it is from Fort Lauderdale, FL, but I don't know anyone there. Does this number ring a bell with anyone. I have tried searching this number and have not been able to come up with anything. Whoever this is will not leave a message.

I just felt the need to be as specific as possible: Out of the total blue, I received a call 2 months ago from a CA calling on behalf of DOE saying that my "student loan debt is under administrative process for wage garnishment". I was astonished and told him that this can't be right and that any student loans I took out were all paid off back in the mid 90's.

Hello, I received a call from the number 520-546-0485, caller ID said "F SI" and I have found nothing via internet search other than 520 area code originates from Arizona. They left no message and have called twice. I called the number back and there was no answer. Is anyone familiar with this number? I appreciate your assistance. Blessings, tippy

I have credit cards that have went into collections and one that has been filed as a civil complaint. Im 18 years of age and live on my own in an apartment. I have only one job and currently right now as of 3/16/07 i have only 4 dollars to my name. I have a total of 2500 in debt concerning credit cards and 800 in withdrawn and closed bank accounts. I recently located from GA to AL and lost my job and had no way to pay these back. i would appreciate and help at all.
