I have over $150,000 in offshore student loans. They are NOT federal loans. I have been called by dozens of companies asking me to consolidate my loans. When they hear that my loans are not federal they have no answer and are completely stumped. I am hoping someone can help me with these loans.

I pulled my credit report and noticed a collection agency pulled 2 inquiries, once in 2005 and once in 2006. They did NOT have my permission to do this. Is that legal? I had a mbna account that i had defaulted on for 1900, it had gone to collect america and i was making 30 dollar payments to them since june 2005. Now it is at 1291. They called me today, so of course i got nervous, I called back. My "account representative" had left already so i spoke to someone else on her behalf. She was actually very nice and helpful with my questions. She said that they hadnt recieved payments from november and the rep wanted follow up and secure a payment.
