Hello all - I could really use some advice for dealing with a collection agency. Basically, in December, they intimidated me into a full payment via 2 bank withdrawals. After some reading and on the advice of good people here, I was able to cancel those withdrawals. In order to do so, I have started dealing with someone in the Complaints/Compliance Dept of the Collector, rather than a typical collection agent.

What you are saying is; you are a legal resident of New York State & even though you most likely had prior knowledge of your state's law against iPDL & PDL loans, you violated it anyway. Yes/No? **************************************************** Good morning again! Actually, "no" I did not have prior knowledge of PDL's being illegal in NYS. Only after I was unable to pay them back and started doing research did I learn that they are in fact "illegal". Thanks!

There was a very good spot on NPR Radio this morning regarding payday lenders in New Mexico. I thought you all might find it interesting. They stated the interest rate was 560% annually on these loans, and highlighted a couple of consumers who had upwards of 4 loans each - and how they run in the vicious circle every payday, paying out $500 or more every month in fees alone, just to "renew" the loans. What was interesting was when they spoke to the owner of two storefront payday lender shops.

Does anyone know who the collection agency is for checkngo online? everytime I do a search Paragon way comes up, is this who collects from them. I wrote a letter to the first bank of delaware, since this is the lender on my checkngo loan contract, wonder if they will respond. I pulled their code of ethics from thier webpage. Thought I would do a little research for my next nasty phone call with checkngo.

I have two or three credit cards that are at a very high delinquent amount and I want to get my credit right
