hello. I hope you can help me. My macys acct was put in omni credit service which is a collection agency. I asked them if we can work something out like to pay certain amount monthly. They refused and instead wanted me to pay the whole amt in 2 days or it will go to court! I was hoping that they will be very helpful to consumers to pay the amount in what ever terms that is acceptable , but the rep was very rude and kept telling me that that is my only option to pay it in full. Is this acceptable? do i have any rights in this situation? help!!

I just tried to write my question and just couldn't with out telling the story... So, here I go... I had a credit card tapped out at $1000 and forgot about it... It was up to $1800 before I called collections...they maid me a deal to pay about $1450 to pay it off (they said they would make that deal because it was almost half interest). So, I was happy about it in the end... that is untill I saw my credit report had a charge off. So, I just don't see why they shouldn't have to tell you that will happen if you pay less... I would have paid the whole amount if I had known.
