I have been rehabilitating my student loan that I had defaulted on. I have made 5 consecutive payments at this time. At what point can I fill out a FAFSA and have it processed and get a new Student Loan? Thank you!

I am in default and a company named VanRu has my loan. I am getting garnished 128.00 per pay. I want to rehab the loan but they want me to fill out this packet that they sent that basically tells them all of my expenses. They said that I needed to do this in order to get a hearing. The problem is that my fiance and I live together with our 1 year old daughter. We are leasing an apartment and both of our names are on the lease. She has A1 credit. My line is shot to hell, but I pay all of the Rent and Utilities.

The first mortgage is in loan modification. The HELOC was recently charged off because they did not want to participate in the loan modification. I just received an unsolicited settlement offer for 40% of the balance which is still more than we have. Should I contact them ad try to negotiate or do I wait 30 days to see if they will offer a lower settlement? They (Wells) said they may go through other collection remedies if I don't respond in 15 days. Is that usually the case?

Hey guys im new to the forum here, just looking for the best possible answer. I have a bad history from about the age of 22, my employment was so unsteady and now I have a good job and want to get my history cleared up. I went ahead and got a free credit report, I do see a lot of "charged offs" and getting a sick feeling, but I want to get taken care of what I can, while I still can. So when you get that free credit report, is that everything that you have/had in collections? Thanks for any help guys!

Hi, I have been reading some of the nightmares about Online payday loans. Back in June I signed up with CashYes.com. I received a $1000 loan. When I signed up for the loan the phone representative advised me that if I agreed to bi-weekly payments of $300 - $350, that my loan would be settled by August 17th. To date, I have paid $1580. I just received an email today stating that I still owe $1235. Naturally, I called the company and they stated to me that the money I have paid was interest only. I responded that when I signed up that the rep ensured me that I would only have to pay $300.

I live in Texas and have two remaining credit card accounts that I was not able to settle. I have been paying a minimal amount each month. I had my credit report pulled up recently and notice that both accounts have been charged off on my credit report. Since it has been charged off and my credit has already been damaged, I'm wondering why I should continue to pay. Can a collector for a credit card account do any further damage to me in Texas?
