I have an "LVNV" account noted on my credit report.It is an old Sears account that originated in 2001.Since then this account has been sold to this company.I disputed this on my credit report and I now see this phrase.Factoring Comapny Account.What does this mean ?

I got really sick with some rare balance disorder called Labyrinthitis and at the same time my bank was going through changes with the online payment system that would require me manually making adjustments to my automatic payments. I did not find this out until over a month later when I was able to get off my back and function again. Many of my accounts got hit with a default rate. I have no problem muscling my way out of debt, but I would prefer taking a path that gets better utility out of my money.
