So I've spent most of today on this site, and I'm seeing quite a few success stories where people have contacted their internet PDL companies and managed to get their account PIF. What makes a company willing to do this? Is there a consistent "success factor" in getting your account marked PIF? thanks in advance for your advice. I am really considering becoming a Debt Samaritan. I am amazed at how many good people are having financial hardships. thanks again!

I am considering the Smart Choice option from Quicken. My current situation is as follows: Mortgage (30 yr, 5.75%) + PMI + property tax = 2600.00/month. I also have 10,000 in credit card debt. The Smart Choice option would allow me to get rid of the PMI, pay off the Credit cards. The questions I have is this option would have me pay interest only for 10 years, and then prinicple payments would begin. I make 100,000/yr and this will increase. SHould I refinance now, or just try to payoff the credit cards ASAP and deal with the PMI. Any advice would be great

Hello, I have about 6 payday loans (online and locally) that are almost all in default. Some are threatening garnishment and others are harrassing me at work and home. I don't know where to start to dig myself out of this hole I have dug for myself. I am worried everymonth if I will be able to pay rent and basic expenses. I need help and quick!

If I go with a debt settlement company, set aside money into an FDIC account until enough is there to negotiate a settlement, what happens in the meantime with my creditors? I mean, they're just going to keep calling because they are no longer receiving payments, right? I understand the negotiating process, but not paying my bills... What do people normally do? This seems to be the trend for debt settlement. I don't understand.
