I got a call from Allied Asset Managment and they were calling about a Debt with a PDL I knew by the way the message was so rudely left on the Voicemail that they were collection agency, when I called them back I requested a debt validation and they said that by asking for one I admit the debt is mine, I did tell them that I did owe the debt in reference however I was not paying what they say I owe due to the laws here in my state and that I would only pay what I was obligated to pay, they informed me that I wouldnt get anything in writing about this debt and if I did it would only state what

I have an account that was a charge off in 2002. The card company went bankrupt and was taken over by FDIC or some other government entity. I finally found the name of the current owner (Infistar/Nextcard) after 3 requests to Equifax. Infistar has been reporting my account as a charge off each and every month since the original charge off. My question is whether or not it is legal or ethical to report a charge off continuously. I have disputed this with Equifax and have been advised that the reporting company says this is correct. Doesn't this perpetuate the bad mark on my credit report?
