I attended a university in Evansville,Indiana and apparently I left with a remaining balance. I was not aware that there was a remaining balance; I understood that my financial aid/student loans were sufficent. For some reason they were mailing my bill to my parents address. This was not the proper address to contact me. I never knew of any bill until the sherriff deputy arrived at my parents house to issue a form saying I must appear in court. I immediately contacted the university and explained the matter and was advised to set up a payment contract directly with the university.

I have an appointment to talk to an attorney this week for a consultation on chapter 13 bankruptcy. I figure it is my only way out of this debt because the payday loans really got me screwed up. I used to pay my bills on time until I got involved with the cash advances. I would have to borrow from one to pay off another. My question is, I have two credit cards that I want to keep out of the bankruptcy. Do I have to include them?

Does anyone think it is smart to let the "bad" credit and "good" credit card reports "fall off your report so that in 7 or 10 years all that is showing is a mortgage and possibly a car finance. Do you all think that my credit score would bottom out with just these two types of good credit resports showing?

I want to clean up my credit report. I know that 5 of my credit cards has been charged off. I dont know who owns these debts anymore. I have some money now so I want to pay off my debt before I get sued again. When I check my credit report, all I see is that the debts are owed to the original creditors and not any of the collection agencies/attorneys that have contacted me. I want to sign up for credit counseling but want to do it with a reputable and honest company who will have my best interest at heart.

The sol in my state is 6 yesrs. the last activity on this account was 2001 or 2002. as far as any payments being made. so I guess that means there is still another 1 or 2 years where Midland's attorneys can collect this debt. I was supposed to wire money to bass and associates friday before 4. I didn't send it. I received a phone call from bass around 6:30 asking why I didn't do it. I told her I didn't trust them, she then said I was red flagged? I told her I heard that their company has been red flagged also. She then responded with a question of what did I mean by that. I told her she knew exactly what I meant. She then asked if I was going to still wire the money and I said no. She then said welcome to the family and hung up on me.
